  1. Good bagels and typically not too long of a wait.

Definitely come here late afternoon if you're looking for a deal – bagels are less than $1 4pm-closing during the week.

Only negative – their iced coffee isn't very good.  I'd stick to their bagels.

  2. They have rearranged their space in a weird way, it is all cut up. I would suggest they spend some money and hire an architect.

It seems also, they are under new management, because on some levels there has been a slight improvement in the service.

But…that said my most recent experience, this past weekend, they gave me a completely deformed and misshapen-ed bagel. Anywhere else this monstrosity, which looked like a bagel victim of a nuclear accident, would have just been tossed. But here they thought it makes sense to toast it and serve it with cream cheese and tomatoes.

I am giving them 3 stars, because they are trying, even if they are kind of dumb.

  3. Despite the reviews, i actually really enjoy bagel cafe and have been there many times, I even brought visiting friends to try it. Once you find a New York bagel shop you like, it's hard to try other places and be satisfied. I think bagel cafe has a little bit of everything and it works. I love their whole wheat, everything flagels with lox – pricey, but thats what you get in the city. I have also tried some of their breakfast wraps/omelettes and they were pretty good too, big portions and very satisfying.  Of course there's no comparison to some of the bigger bagel companies, like brooklyn bagels, but for what it is, it's does the trick! There's even a few tables to sit at inside.

  4. With so many kinds of bagels and spreads, Bagel Cafe has what you like.
I got a plain bagel with tofu cream cheese and it was divine. Why haven't I had tofu cream cheese before?!

The line moves quickly, and everyone who works here is quick and professional. You'll be in and out in 5 minutes.

  5. If you're looking for a quick to-go breakfast, Bagel cafe is the joint for you. Although I can't get over the pricey-ness of NY breakfast options, it definitely filled me up!
I got their ham & cheese croissant, which was buttery and crispy. Paired with a cup of coffee, it warms me up! Also, the amount of cream cheese options is pretty impressive. I'll definitely try it again!

  6. I really wanted to at least like it… Service was friendly enough I guess… (Shrugs shoulders) you know what the entire experience here was just that (shoulder shrugging induced mediocrity)

The Bagel with lox was nothing special… And the 10.75 price tag made me more angry than the fact that I even bothered to order food here. I also got an egg platter. The spinach and feta one to be exact and it was all bland… The home fries where mushy and looked like someone spread glue on them before they were served.

I don't know if I am more upset that I spent 25.00 here for breakfast or the fact that after I spent such an absurd amount of money for food that was barely palatable and I actually ate it!??? Well at least half of it…

The best thing here was my fruit punch Snapple… Before I delve deeper into the black hole of such a negative review I will say this… Hungry? Craving a carb loaded bagel??? Get it here but be prepared to spend about 8 bucks on ONE bagel.

(BUYER BEWARE: there's a sign that says everything is baked on the premises I highly doubt that as I witnessed a worker unpacking cupcakes from a box and putting them on display… I sure those will go for about 5 dollars a pop each)

  7. There are a few things you have to do when visiting New York. First, you've gotta try a "dirty water dawg" and then ya gotta have a bagel. I've heard New York City bagels are much better than anywhere else because of the water, but I think it's more than that.

Take Bagel Cafe for example. I stopped in for a quick bagel on Sunday morning before heading to the subway. I ordered an everything bagel, toasted. The guy told me that it had just been made and was still piping hot and asked if I still wanted it toasted, which I said no. This bagel was so hot and so delicious that I'd have one everyday if I could guarantee it had just been made. Having been the only bagel I've had in New York City, this is my definition of a NYC bagel.

Cream Cheese selection was quite a bit bigger than I've seen before as well as multiple options for lox and bagels. This is a place that seems to have gotten it right, even though it's an unassuming little cafe sitting on the corner.

  8. Only gotten bagel with cream cheese, so can't speak for the other menu items. I like their bagels, seem fresh and up to par with other bagel places in the area. Cream cheese is solid too.

Don't like the way the line is really confusing and disorganized. People (myself included) don't realize where to order/pay/pickup and leaves an absolute mess when it's crowded
