The BE has excellent made on the premise bagels, complex and chewy and usually hot when you pick they up on a weekend. Spreads are good with scallion, olive and lox. In addition they have some of the best thin, very thin sliced lox (from the next door kosher market) best in the area and precut in 1/4 lb sheets
Not impressed at all and that's probably because I got poor service. I also wasn't a fan of the bagels. There are definitely a few better places within minutes of this establishment. This place wasn't even crowded the morning I went in and was bypassed even though I was standing in line. Then when I was finally helped, I didn't even get an apology, I got attitude.
This is not my go-to bagel place in the area but I came here the other day with my brother to grab some bagels for our family. The bagels here just aren't up to par for me. Yes they offer many different flavors of cream cheese but I'm not there for that I'm there for a bagel and they just don't do it for me.
Okay so the reviews for this joint are pretty rough. I stumbled upon this place because I was grocery shopping at Fairway. I will agree with other reviewers that using the same gloves to prepare food and touch money is unsanitary. I was grossed out but I went in prepared. Overall it did seem a bit dirty. Also, they had very limited bagels/options. All I wanted was a flavored coffee and a bagel. The bagel was crunchy and tasty. It had too much butter. The French vanilla coffee was weak. The place served its most basic purpose. I doubt I'd return but I might.
