Let me clarify before you read further, this review is only of bagel smash on a Sunday morning after a heavy night of drinking received via delivery.

The perfect hangover cure. I go for eggs cheese meat smashed goodness on whatever bagel tickles my fancy that day. My man gets pepperoni pizza bagel smash on everything. Somehow, the smashed bagel provides the perfect combination of crispy outside and soft inside, carbs to absorb the booze and grease to gently ease the hangover away. I cannot imagine that this is a meal that would appeal to me any other time. And I don't care.

Yea what can I say about this place… it is very underwhelming.  Ordered here the other day and what I got looked like a store bought re-microwaved smashed bagel with some egg beaters on it.

With all the good options for bagels in town and it is probably best to order from somewhere else.

It is a novel concept but it is not executed well at all.

The whole bagel smashing thing seems like a big gimmick. WTF. Just make a good bagel with good cream cheese and that should be sufficient. Whenever businesses try to sell something gimmicky like this, it usually means the actual product is poor. They also seem to toast the bagels by default which is also a huge no-no. If a bagel is freshly baked and well-made, there is absolutely no need to toast the bagel. Toasting the bagel actually ruins it.

The bagels weren't the worst I've ever had — probably better than your typical chain restaurant bagel such as Panera or Einstein's. But clearly inferior to bagels at legitimate NYC bagel places and even Hoboken Hot Bagels.

I got the veggie cream cheese and it was actually pretty good so that was the only bright spot.

Price was also a bit steep for what you get. $4 for a bagel with cream cheese?

Nomnomnomnom!!!! All I wanted the whole time we were in NY/NJ was a salt bagel and they delivered!! It was salty and gooey and crunchy on the outside and overall delicious.

I also ordered egg sandwiches with bacon and one with just cheese for my in laws and they though they were amazing, I thought it was dry and the cheese tasted very processed.

I didn't know what "smash" meant, but apparently they press the bagels in a panini and squish them. Tasted just fine to me, just looked funny as a flat bagel.

Loved it and totally recommend this place.

    Oh, cash only!

My first time ordering from Bagel Smashery and I'm a fan. It's a great go to hungover breakfast place. The bacon was fresh and was easy to order. I personally love the crispiness of the bagel but I have to say, I think I prefer my bagels not smashed but I definitely see the appeal of having it flatter since it's much easier to eat

    Barbaric.
I guess I didn't understand from the name of the place that they literally smash your bagel, into a panini.
The bagels and all taste fine, but just the concept of smashing my bagel is not appealing to me at all. If you like your doughy bread of bagels, I wouldn't recommend this place. The Smashery is probably better f you're looking for more of a lunch panini sandwich type place.

Delicious bagel sandwich if you know your combination. The portion is big and makes a heavy breakfast meal.

Not the fresh- tasty breakfast sandwiches you want to get at this place. You can definitely find better bagels in Hoboken. I stopped by here with my friend because we use to go to this place when it was located by Hoboken High. They do have a variety of things you can put on your bagel but I stuck with a whole wheat bagel with egg whites & ham. The smash part is probably the best part.
