  1. It was okay. Nothing too special and a little over priced. The bagels don't seem super fresh and they're a little thin for someone who was expecting a voluptuous New York bagel. Glad I made the trip today but I'll be continuing my bagel search somewhere else next time.

  2. The other day I ventured beyond our normal bagel spot to this place.  It gets good Yelp reviews so I'm always open to finding a new favorite.  I was unimpressed. There was a ton of work going on outside, which is fine.  Inside it is very narrow.  They do have tables to sit and enough employees on hand.  I like that they had blueberry bagels and many different cream cheeses.  However the bagel selection was just your typical selection.  Are egg everything bagels that rare in Manhattan? I got a salted bagel with butter.  It was a doughy, somewhat tasteless bagel with a small amount of salt and butter.  I prefer chewy bagels and more flavor.  I ordered an iced hazelnut coffee.  To make it hazelnut they add syrup.  I prefer it when the beans are flavored.  Both came to about $5.20.  The employees were friendly and attentive, but I won't be walking the extra blocks to eat here.
**Also as another reviewer noted, the grill was down when I was there too on Tuesday**

  3. Turkey bacon + egg + cheese on roll($5+)

It's good. Eggs cooked on butter and not oil. Turkey bacon had a smokey taste which was a plus. NO turkey sausage 🙁

Came in @7am.. Staff was chill.
Fairly priced for UWS bagel shop.
10 or less tables inside.. small.
    Gets packed at certain times.

  4. Great quick place on the upper west side for good bagel sandwiches. Tons of schmear options.

  5. As an overall experience, Bagel Talk is ok. It is in a good location and has a large variety of bagels and spreads. The guy who takes your order will take care of you (including coffee) until you get to the register. They do have a few options for muffins, pastries, etc. I didn't try any but they looked good.

I was unimpressed with the bagels. They have quite a few cream cheeses, and bagel options as well. But the bagels themselves, in my opinion, are nothing to write home about. The bagels were hard, dry, and really lacking in flavor. I also felt the seasonings on the bagel were light, which is a shame because the bagel itself needed something to elevate it. Maybe it was planned all along that the bagels would not have flavor and just be a vehicle for the spreads to 'shine'. But I doubt it, and I like a good tasting bagel over the cream cheese.

The store itself is of decent size and has enough seats and tables to serve their patrons who do sit and eat (maybe 10-12 seats). The coffee was decent and the overall price point was reasonable. The staff was fine in getting the bagels made but with usually one register going all it takes is one customer to back up the line.

BAGEL SCORE: 2/5. Unfortunately these bagels are pretty bland, hard, dry, and lack seasoning/flavor (aka bland!). They do have a good variety of bagels and even more variety in spreads but the flavor and texture of the bagels themselves are lacking. These bagels can "talk" all they want, but I'm not listening anymore 🙂

  6. Originally I was going to give three stars, but after my second visit here I won't be back. The first time I came here, I ordered an everything bagel scooped with cream cheese, tomatoes, and lox. It was $9.52, pretty steep for the size of their bagels. The second time I came here I ordered the same exact bagel. Came back to work to have lunch and noticed a hair that was cooked inside the bagel. So gross. I immediately came back and told the staff about it. They offered me another bagel but I already lost my appetite. Got my money back instead. Also, the bagels aren't even that good.

  7. The best bagel on the Upper West Side. Their bagels have the perfect texture and are fresh and flavorful. They have three flavors of tofu cream cheese-plain, veggie, and scallion. Always great to see a vegan option! My blueberry bagel was one of the best I have ever eaten, and tofu cream cheese was the perfect compliment. $3.25 for this delicious breakfast.

Fantastic, fast service-all of the staff here were welcoming and friendly to me. The cashier complimented my tshirt and was a genuinely nice guy-really brightened my day. $5 minimum on cards.

  8. Standard breakfast sandwich joint on the upper west side. Not the most cheerful employees but hey as long as the food is decent who cares after a long night of drinking…

The bagels were decent. Nothing mind blowing but nothing terrible either. A fresh squeezed oj will run u almost 6 bucks which is a bit insane to me. There are a few tables to sit at if your having your bagels to stay.  Hungry on a Sunday morning on the upper west side looking for a quick bite? This will get the job done just fine.
