  1. Super cute! While driving by I thought they were mini French macarons and I was half right. They specialize in micro mini cupcakes, so small they're only $1 each and less in calories. Wasn't able to try any micro macarons, saving room for Ladureé.

I only tried the very green Mint Cookie, tasted ok, crisp bites of Oreo on there. Red velvet looked good too.

They have Baked by Melissa in multiple locations. I wouldn't mind dropping by again to try other flavors. Service is fine. T-shirts for sale.

  2. I am going to just start reviewing every single Baked by Melissa and writing the same thing: The Cookie Dough Macaron Here Is Life.

It is so amazingly good. Like I am sorry I don't have much to say and this place is definitely nowhere near a 5 star because everything else is kind of meh, but seriously the Cookie Dough Macaron guys, holy jesus. All four stars for that thing. I can never even take a pic because I eat them so quickly.

  3. I've been wanting to try this place for so long and I'm so glad I finally got the chance!

I got a box of 6 bite sized cupcakes for $5.50. I know a lot of people were complaining about the price but o understand. Yes they are small but they are so intricately designed and obviously take a lot of time to make.

I wish there were larger cupcakes because I couldn't get enough! The peanut butter and jelly was amazing. I also loved the golden Oreo one! They are so moist and not too sweet and oh so flavorful. Definitely better than most cupcakes I've tried. It's hard to get proportions right with such small cakes but they did it!

  4. At this point, everyone gets it: BBM offers super small, overly sweet, kitsch little bougey treats that are as overpriced as Eleven Madison (in terms of bang for your buck).

And I feel it's time we all get over it.  The chain product is what the chain product is.  It's a cute little experience, meant to be only that.

At this point, it should be about the service at each location.  And the 61st & Lex location is stellar.

The shop is clean.  The works are super nice, very attentive, very sensitive to certain allergy needs, think about if you'll be serving to kids, don't push an oversell, and make for a really nice, quick, efficient experience.

When you're paying that much for so little, that's the level of service you should get.  This BBM brings it.

  5. As I was walking down Lexington I decided to stop by Baked by Melissa and try one of these teeny tiny cupcakes! The price was right-$1.00. I wanted one with peanut butter. I don't like jelly so the nice girl at the counter said to try the chocolate with peanut butter inside.  I think she called it Scotcheroo. It was so small I took one bite just to see the inside. Then I finished it off! It is really tiny enough for one bite!
It leaves you wanting more. When I left I snapped a picture of the ones on display. I ate it before i took a picture! This is a take out only place. The space is small. It filled up with customers. One woman had her stroller blocking the way out! Not convenient. At least they had the door open by that time. People were buying large quantities.
The cupcake really was tasty. I just don't see the attraction unless you eat three or four. I don't really like any of the other flavors. I'll go back when I just need that little something chocolate with peanut butter inside!

  6. The cupcakes were great, they were so moist and they tasted exactly like how they should.  They also had so many different flavors to choose from.  I don't know how many of these places around NY can make money enough to keep standing.  I guess only one way: Tourists.

The miniature cupcakes are a big waste though.  I swallowed it in one gulp.  It size wasn't worth the cost.  I think it's cute for a surprise, but as far as buying it to eat – biggest waste of money.

  7. Super cute bite size cupcakes. They have a variety of flavours. I particularly like the red velvet, chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip and the fudge. Can you tell I'm a chocolate lover? The staff are super helpful and friendly. I would definitely come back to this store to pick up more cupcakes. The cupcakes were super moist and easy to eat. Probably the most moist cupcakes I have ever had. They also sell bite size macarons which I was not a huge fan on due to the petite size. There are also many shops around New York so you wont miss it! Be sure to keep refrigerated as it tends to melt quite fast!

  8. Yummy good cupcakes the size of a quarter, how wonderful. I love that some have a filling. Each month, there is a new cupcake of the month. $1 each, but also sold in groups of 3, 6, & larger, that you custom select.  Especially love these cupcakes when you want a little bit of cupcake & you don't want a regular size, you just want a tiny taste, this is it…often no guilt unless you eat 30 or  a huge amount.  Creative flavor combos. Love the frosting.
