Stopped in for an early dinner on a Sunday. Nice place, rather quiet. I don't recall the background music – something Middle Eastern. Service was firndly, professional. Food came out quickly.
We split two starters – the Foul Medamas and the Labneh – both very good. My entree was the chicken kebab – Shish Tawook – very good. My friend had the chicken cooked in spinach – Mloukhieh – which was OK.
A bottle of wine was $44 bringing the check to $112 before the tip. Decent price value. I would go again.
Classy little joint over on 14th St. Just stopped in to quench a thirst for turkish coffee and baklava. Glad I did. Got the baklava to go but decided on the milk pudding, white pudding, turkish coffee and greek beer.
Even though we were only having dessert, coffee and beer we were still served warm, fresh bread and oil within 5 minutes of being seated. The bread was soft and delicious. I didn't care for the sesame seeds in the oil, but it was definitely tasty.
Milk pudding
Defintely my favorite. Sweet even though it appeared to be in light syrup. Generous helping of bananas which really kicked it up a notch and strawberries. Awesome.
White pudding
Not to my liking. Not as sweet. Thicker consistency. Nice rose flavor but it just wasn't as tasty as the milk pudding
Both desserts were really large servings enough for 2-3 poeple.
Baklava
I got 2 orders to go, for mom and sis. I really like the way they serve their baklava. It's cut into little inch size squares. Great way to control the portion consumption. I had one piece when I got home. It was amazingly good!
Turkish coffee
I love turkish coffee and I get it every time I hit a mediterranean spot. The way they serve it here is great! You get a little pot for the table and you can pour out the coffee into your cup, thus avoiding the grinds. Genius. Strong and delicious.
I can't wait to get back to this place for dinner!
omg so good! my friend recommended that we go here so we did, a group of 6. not A LOT of seating but good amount. the waiter, i didn't catch his name, was so amazing and cool, but he had glasses. our friend is lebanese so she recommended a bunch of things for us and ordered all the appetizers for us which were all amazing! i cannot think of 1 thing we had that wasn't GREAT. will definitely come back again. can't go wrong with anything you order and everyone was so nice!
Came here with a party of 15 for my co-worker's birthday. Most weren't familiar with Lebanese cuisine so I became the de facto translator/expert for our party. The food was just okay but service was attentive and pleasant. They give you a lot of food so come hungry and leave feeling like you ate an entire goat by yourself.
At this point, I really don't remember what I ate but I do remember the dish being too vinegar-y. I think I ordered the chicken shawarma platter with sauteed potatoes. I asked my boyfriend what his favorite dish was and he said: "the Priyanka Chopra was good". He couldn't remember what he ate either.
I've only had takeout from here, but it's delish. The fries are really good, and the chicken schwarma is some of the best I've had.
Extremely overpriced. I ordered delivery from here. The food was good but nothing outstanding or worthy of the prices. I could've gotten the exact same meal for half a price somewhere else.
We didn't have reservations for a busy Saturday night, but they were really accommodating, squeezing our party of 5 between reservations. We weren't really familiar with the food, but they were amazing at recommending the perfect amount of food for our party. We had different types of hummus/spreads and they were generous with the pita and kept that coming. Also got a meat (sampler) platter which wasn't very meaty for the price they were charging, but it was good quality. Overall, food was really good, but it won't blow your mind away. Service was attentive and quick. Definitely a great way to start a great night.
Though I didn't love my dinner here, it's possible I ordered the wrong thing because the restaurant was packed. I was glad we had made a reservation.
Instead of ordering an entrée, my friend and I chose to share a few of the small plates. We ordered the hummus, falafel, baba ghanouj (eggplant puree), and rhakat (phyllo rolls with mozzarella, feta, and oregano), which turned out to be plenty of food. My favorite dish was the rhakat, which I would describe as Mediterranean mozzarella sticks. They came out piping hot and very crispy, and tasted delicious. The other dishes were lacking in flavor, especially the bread, hummus, and falafal. I'm a huge fan of hummus and falafel and had high expectations for this restaurant's version, but both were not great. Happy to have tried it, but I think I'll keep looking for a favorite Mediterranean spot.
