They don't do anything fancy at Bambino's, but I'd argue that this is better than the other pizza shop (the ever-present Ray's at 26th and Lexington) that's in the neighborhood that serves your standard-fare pizza. Their deal (2 slices + soda for $4.50) is pretty solid considering most of these places tend to charge $2.50 for a slice nowadays. I actually got the special when it was $4 after a long day of work and I had no motivation for cooking. The sauce is a bit more flavorful, and the crust isn't as thick as it can be on these slices. They definitely don't skimp on size either – you get a pretty big slice for your money's worth. All in all, it's a very solid little shop that does your typical cheese slice well. I can't speak to what the pizza with toppings is like, but I generally leave that to the finer places.
