I cannot even begin to count how many times I have visited Bamboo Grill in my lifetime. To be more specific I'm talking about their party venue called the Latin Room in the back. My family, my friends' families, heck even my coworkers have done functions at this place. I can't say anything bad about this homespun treasure. I have on occasion visited the restaurant in the front as well and it has always served up fantastic and traditional Filipino food, so this review should convince other foodies to try it. But I'm mostly writing this review with regards to the party room in the back like I said in the beginning. For those that want to have a great time with their family, this venue is great. The Latin Room has the perfect blend of dance floor and seating area that will accommodate a lot of people for some nice time. The food they serve buffet style at the corner of the room is quite delicious–never lacking any flavor or kick. The arroz caldo (or congee to my Chinese bro) is a great way to start off the meal. The ginger is pronounced alright and that's the way I like it! The dance floor is not too big but for some reason Filipinos are able to fit a lot of people in it all at once. Take my advice: if you want to have some good food, good fun, and good memories then have your next party at this little Filipino gem in Bergenfield–you won't regret it!
My family came in for Father's Day brunch in a rush.
There were 10 of us and we had to be elsewhere shortly after on a tight schedule.
We did call in ahead of time to let them know this and they were very accommodating.
Our party was seated upstairs and we were literally the only ones up there which was kind of nice.
We were in and out in less than an hour. And that's all thanks to the two people working upstairs that day. I wish I got their name because they were great.
We sat down, ordered, ate and bagged our leftovers in less than one hour thanks to them.
We ordered a bunch of stuff and everything I was able to taste was fantastic.
My sister, who lives in the area comes here all the time. It made me wish I didn't live in the west coast because I would definitely be coming here all the time.
Their lumpia is the best I've ever had.
This place is conveniently located next to the movie theater that plays Filipino movies. So after watching a movie, we headed here for some late lunch. The place was tiny and packed. Not the cleanest looking restaurant if you ask me. The service was fast but I also felt rushed because people were waiting for a table. We ordered the arrozcaldo, barbecue and palabok. The arrozcaldo was very good. The pork barbecue could've used a few more minutes on the grill and the palabok was very tasty!
Authentic Pinoy food!!! Great price, and good variety, this is the place to go if you miss good Pinoy food. I recommend kare-kare (oxtail stew in a peanut-based sauce), pancit malabon, grilled tilapia, and garlic rice. For dessert, I recommend bibinka which you can easily share with 3 people because of its large portion. Also they have halo-halo!!
