  1. Arrived with excitement, who wouldn't be, the place is called Americana – and USA is playing Costa Rica tonight.

However, slightly disappointed – not much of a crowd, but, it's Tuesday night.

We were seated promptly – they even put on the Soccer game (why they weren't already playing it … It's beyond me).

I ordered a pear cider to start and my fireman ordered the Fat Tire on Tap, which he loved (however he tried to order two previous drinks that were on the menu but they didn't have it in inventory). My drink was alright, a bit bitter – but I'm no expert beer drinker. We started with Calamari and it was great – perfectly fired with dashes of salt, pepper and basil. The only downside was the small portion of marinara sauce (we had to order more).

Service was great, we were attended to promptly (however there weren't many people there). Calamari was decent and had neat presentation. The final star falters because of the crowd. It's Tuesday night, and the USA is playing, and this place is called A-M-E-R-I-C-A-N-A, for goodness sake, run a special tonight, get people in the door (it would help to know who is playing sports tonight – not like I own a bar or anything ).

    Cheers peeps!

  2. We waited a few weeks before coming here to give this place some time to work out its kinks and also because two people I know tried coming here on two separate occasions and they both left because it was so packed. As described by others, this place is small. They have crammed about three too many tables in the dining area. It definitely felt cramped.

Four of us came for dinner at 7:30 on a Saturday night and were promptly seated. My head was uncomfortably close to the corner above the fire place so I had to be careful when getting up. Our server was friendly and attentive in the beginning but the service slowly dwindled by the end of the night, which didn't make a lot of sense because the place was less crowded.

I was a little surprised they didn't have more beers on tap for a gastropub.

I ordered the BLT with sweet potato fries and M ordered the veggie burrito. My friend ordered the shrimp po boy and his girlfriend ordered the French onion soup with a side salad. The server said they don't really have side salads but that he'd make it work and get one out to her. That side salad never did come out. M's third beer never made it over to our table either. I ordered the $10 Manhattan drink and the first one came neat in a martini glass. The second one came in a large shot glass with ice. It didn't make any sense to me, so out of curiosity, I asked the server why the same exact drink from the menu was served two different ways. He appeared confused and didn't know. I guess they're still working out kinks.

My BLT was really good, as were the sweet potato fries (though they were lukewarm).  M enjoyed his veggie burrito but said his fries were a little cold. We ordered desserts but the server informed us they were out of the salted caramel cheesecake sundae. We selected the warm brownie sundae instead and it was really good.

Overall, we enjoyed our food and the service was OK. I'd like to come back in a few more weeks or when the outside area opens.
