Good crepes however knocking it down due to price! Crepes range from $7-$13 which I thought was a little pricy, especially for the sweet ones. I got a honey and almond and also a smoked salmon crepe. The smoked salmon one was amazing, the slices of salmon were decent. It went well with the mayo and arugula. The honey and almond was on the lighter side, the almond gave this crepe a nice crunch. The crepe is thin and had a nice flavor. Both the two employees who made the crepes made them nicely.
Located next to the Donuttery in Chelsea Market, there is a small bar to sit at and watch your crepe being made. The crepes are handheld and made with thin batter and ingredients that tasted fresh. However it also had that annoying thing where there is a large layer of batter before you get to the fillings. I just tore all the extra batter off because it was pretty tasteless. A yummy crepe, but nothing outstanding and not a must try.
We came here only for the Nutella hot chocolate — SO GOOD. Super rich and surprisingly filling. It does feel a little bit overpriced though, for $4 for a small cup. Very tasty however and the perfect thing for walking the High Line when it's cold out.
We did watch them make crepes which looked great but not anything extraordinary. They have a few seats which is nice particularly in Chelsea Market, and fun to watch them prepare the crepes in front of you.
Bar Suzette makes some amazing crepes! I absolutely love coming here whenever I'm in the city. For about $8-13, you can get anything from a sweet Nutella crepe to a savory apple/brie crepe.
I've ordered most of crepes on the menu at this point and have not been disappointed by any of them. The Nutella or chocolate ones are always filled with just enough chocolate as to not be too sweet. The fruit inside is fresh, and they always have someone cutting up the fruit so you know you're getting it at its best. The savory crepes are fill of leave greens and fresh fruits/cheeses/fillings to make you feel healthy and happy.
I highly recommend to trying one of the savory crepes. Bar Suzette has great pairing, and if there's anything you want to try, I'm sure they'd be willing to find one to fit your tastes!
Can't decide between sweet or savory? Here is a suggestion: Get both! Bar Suzette has an expansive selection of sweet and savory thin pancakes stuffed with classic and unique fillings, such as almond slivers, fresh strawberries, and coconut on the sweeter side, and truffle hummus, goat cheese, and smoked salmon on the savory side. I recommend the Pesto Chicken crepe, which is made with cubes of chicken breast tossed in nutty pesto sauce, asiago cheese, market greens, fresh tomato, and basil oil stuffed inside thin and crispy crepe.
Located in Chelsea Market, this was a recommendation of a friend of mine who lives in NY. I am so glad I listened. Bar Suzette offers both savory and sweet crepes but since I had already eaten lunch I knew I wanted sweet. At the suggestion of the staff I chose the lemon, butter, sugar crepe and added fresh strawberries. I must say this was a perfect after lunch treat. It was conveniently packaged such that I could enjoy it as I walked the high line back to my destination. The crepes are made to order and prepared right in front of you. Despite the on the spot preparation, the wait was not long at all. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone stopping through the market.
I got a breakfast crepe (ham egg and cheese) and it was so gooood. Although it was in the morning and they were still busy opening the shop they still made time to make my crepe quickly. Who knew crepe places made such delicious breakfasts!
Decent crepes. Had a mushroom and balsamic glaze crepe. Good and filling. Made fresh right in front of you.
