  1. This place offers old school arcade games where you can play other strangers for competition or for fun as long as you have a quarters. We all know how home console gaming took off once they were able to connect to the internet. Games like Street Fighter 5, Halo, and others are very popular for home console gaming. But, if you want to go back to old school gaming where you can challenge "in person" other people and have the bragging rights whenever you win, then this is the right place to come!

The games that it offers are: Mortal Kombat II, Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom 2, and many others. However, I feel like this place could have purchased many more games because it seems the place has more space to place more games. And if possible, this place could hold tournaments and competitions to make it more fun and challenging…

Anyways, this place is fun. Whenever you combine alcohol and video games, then you are in heaven!

  2. They have Tapper! Fun times have been had here (playing Tapper) many, many times. Great beer selection to go along with playing Tapper. If management/ownership ever reads this, please do not ever get rid of Tapper. Other highlights include Rampage, PunchOut and Donkey Kong.

  3. So years ago (at least close to like 5-7 years ago) I went to a friend's birthday party at Barcade in Williamsburg – this is also known as being the "original" one. It was all sorts of awesomeness – it's in a warehouse/parking garage type of building and was full of fantastic, nostalgia-inducing arcade video games, a pool table, cool people and even cooler beers.

Fast forward to 2016, now there are plenty of Barcades and lots of people who aren't into video games are learning about what they've been missing out on. I've been into video games my whole life – but even more do now that my fiance is a (cool) nerd who's really into the old-school games of yore. I'm insanely into craft beers so Barcade is really the marriage of our passions into one awesome place. The problem lies in the fact that it always feels very crowded in here unless it's early or pre-happy hour. But still, Barcade is generally a really fun way to begin your night.

There is a certain, "if you've been to one Barcade, you've seen em' all" vibe – but my personal faves are this one and the one in Chelsea.

  4. I haven't played arcade games in ages. There were definitely so hardcore players, who are most likely regulars there, but they weren't pretentious. I went with a friend, so we played a lot of the two player shooting and fighting games. They have a good selection on tap. I think there was music, but it wasn't loud so you can have a convo.

  5. Best hang out place ever. Large, spacious, full of games, snacks and good company. Maybe I'm just a victim of nostalgia, but I find it all too easy to stroll in here, snatch a drink and lose myself in random games for hours on end. Definitely a quick money drainer though….

  6. A cool spot where I can affirm that I am AWFUL, JUST AWFUL at arcade games.

It's a big open space. Billions of points for putting flat surfaces next to each machine for resting your beer while you play. Each game is only one or two quarters. Functional change machine near the bar (why can't my laundromat get it right).

Williamsburg is basically the epicenter of our collective Peter Pan syndrome. Barcade takes this cultural obsession with childish kitsch, adds booze. Nothing and everything is sacred.

  7. It's where adulthood meets childhood. With a great selection of beer and a variety of video games, you cannot go wrong. It is Brooklyn's very own Disney World. The prices on drinks are decent and the games are a quarter each. It's a spacious yet cozy place to meet up with a group of friends who share the same love for arcade games and alcohol 🙂

  8. Barcade is really awesome!  You can come here and spend hours and not be bored.

Came here on a whim because I've been passing it for years and wanted to do some serious bar hopping in Williamsburg.  Any place that has arcade games and alcohol automatically gets five stars in my book!  You have an eclectic group of patrons here.  From the Hipster crowd to tourists to Williamsburg natives.  The Hipster crowd are very annoying and obnoxious.  If they want to play a game that you are playing, they will stand rightbehindyou and breathe down your neck until you leave the game.  They seem to have a thing for Pac Man and Ms. Pac Man. Everyone gets carded as soon as you go in.  Decent amount of seating about the place.  Mortal Kombat, Donkey Kong, Frogger, Robo Cop, Timber and Centipede….I was in total heaven!  I love the wooden slats they have between the games where you can rest your drinks!  Games are only a quarter each which is really unheard of these days!  They have an ATM on premise and a token dispensing machine.

Friendly bartenders and the most insane beers on tap.  All you really need to know is the Prairie Artisan Ales BOMB! Imperial Stout.  This beer is the most amazing beer ever!  This coming from someone who isn't crazy about beers.  The coffee, cocoa, vanilla and chilies are such a heavy, yet smooth and delicious blend. Barcade is one of the few places that have it on tap. The Two Roads Road Jam is crisp and refreshing.  Solid options.  So are the house cocktails.  I was three sheets to the wind so I don't remember exactly what I had, but boy was it strong!  Didn't skimp on the alcohol that's for sure!  They have chips and pickles and pretzels and typical bar food.  Didn't try anything but I'm sure I will next time I come.  Which hopefully is very soon!  Also, bathrooms are pretty decent.
