  1. My friend lives down the block from this place, so we decided to get dinner here one night when craving burgers. I had never gone to this Bareburger location; having only gone to the one in Long Island City. It is a cute restaurant, we sat in front of a little pinecone bear figurine. They have little bears all over the store, wooden carvings, lights made of forks, bottles hanging from the ceiling, and cutlery as well. We got a basket of fries to split, the sauces that came with it were pretty good, chipotle mayo and what tasted like ketchup but better. The fries were really hot! To the touch and hot on the tongue. I ordered a SoCal burger, which is turkey and alfalfa, with guacamole, red onions, and pepper jack on a sprout bun. My friend got a bison burger with bacon and cheddar, our other friend got the standard burger. He also ordered a Peanut Butter Chocolate Shake, which was quite disgusting. There wasn't any milk in the milkshake??!! It was really thick and hard to drink (eat). The burgers were really big, obviously had a funny look on my face eating alfalfa sprouts. Overall, it's an average burger. My friend ended up paying $17 because he added bacon and cheese! Overpriced, but I do love the whole GMO free all natural diet so we're paying for quality I guess.

  2. Bareburger is a chain of exotic burgers in NYC (most are in Manhattan but two are in Brooklyn).  And by exotic I mean, like you'll be eating elk and bison burgers.  I think I had ostrich once, but not at this location or this season… haha.  Yes, they are organic and free range (imagine farming ostrich).  Anyhow, I went with the County Fair (bison burger with basic toppings like lettuce, cheese, onion, pickles, etc.) and it was great.  The toppings were fresh and the bison was yummy.  Obviously have to get burgers with fries right, so headed for the large serving of fries and onion rings.  Pretty standard, not outstanding.

Service was also great – this Bareburger location is pretty small, but didn't mind as we were seated immediately.  I think at other locations, you can choose your toppings and create your own burger or they give you a set of toppings and you pick the meat, but maybe they changed the menu.

  3. Had a really bad delivery experience with them. First of all, it takes at least an hour for them to make and deliver your food in general. Know that going in. Or if you're really lucky, they will just never deliver your food, as was our experience tonight. After waiting an hour and a half, we called and they said the order just never got put it. Never put in? Really? Wow.

The food here is alright, but nothing really special. Everything costs a fortune. There are far better burgers out there folks that don't cost you an arm and a leg. They have tweaked their menu a few times and taken items off which they shouldn't have and added items that are lackluster. So if you would like to pay $15 for a very average burger, by all means, go here.

Shame on us for trying this place again after having a not greta delivery experience, but rest assured we will NEVER be going back.

  4. Hmm, I ordered around 10 pm. I got a turkey burger, fries and soda. The burger smelt a bit weird to me, but once I tasted it, it was pretty good…except the texture. The burger was chewy at some parts, tasty at others. How did I finish it? I was hungry! I'm not a fan of the fries; too soft for my tastes. The "secret sauce" was pretty meh; at other burger places, the secret sauce is awesome and unique. At Bareburger, the secret sauce doesn't taste too special. The soda is probably my favorite part of the meal: the mandarin orange soda. The burger wasn't terrible, but I honestly had better. The 5 stars lead and pictures lead me here. The takeout food doesn't look as pretty(as expected).

  5. Let me preface this with this location of Bareburger is very kid friendly with the Disney channel on on the weekends and has tons of toddlers and kids running about.

The maître d' was all over the place. I understand you want to help and make the operations run a little smoother, but if you can't even keep an eye on the door while doing that you shouldn't be helping out if you can't do your job right. When the hubster and I walked in we didn't know if the door we entered was the front or back since everyone working and the registers were in the back. There was no place to wait by the front door so we headed to the back near the counter and after standing there and staring at every worker there the maître d' finally made herself apparent and waved us back to the front to tell us we had to wait. When I asked where was the best place to wait since the restaurant was so tight she just said anywhere as long as she can find us… So we headed back to the back of the restaurant since it was super sunny outside.

There are only two bar seats and the rest are a mixture of booths, tables, and high top tables and stools. One bathroom, clean, but always busy.

We ordered the Blue Elk, El Matador, fries and rings, mandarin orange soda, and a strawberry lemonade. Both smaller burgers than what you normally see at a burger joint, but very gourmet and tall if that's the term to use. The rings were great while the fries could be crispier. The dipping sauces were forgettable and the drinks were gourmet as well, fancy, refreshing, made in house. The flavors of the burgers were great, the meat was cooked perfectly, bison and elk both in taste and texture seemed just like beef and I could probably eat two burgers in one sitting if they weren't $10+ each with no side or drink. Groupon came to save some of the bill!

This would have been 3 stars but I was unhappy with how the maître d' handled her job because she's the first impression I get of the establishment and first impressions are the most important. I would definitely eat at a Bareburger again just not at this location.

  6. Been here a few times and each visit I've had great food and service.
My favorite burger is the Supreme (country bacon, special sauce) and smushed french fries between the patty and bun! I get this every time I come to B.Burger.
One time I had the pleasure of tasting these tiny sweet potato poppers, or croquettes, not sure what they're called on the menu, but man, oh man, were they good!
Another thing I love about this place are the dipping sauces, all of them are tasty. They also serve huge glasses of beer that I often have to think whether or not I can finish it.

I can see why some people may be annoyed with the amount of children dining in the restaurant, but luckily I haven't experience that during my visits. Both times I've gone for dinner around 7 and 8pm during the week and it wasn't crowded or loud.

Staff is friendly and attentive. Our server, David, was very nice and helpful in recommending items on the menu.

One tip: Don't go overboard like me and order the onion rings/fries basket. My friend and I ordered this and weren't able to finish it since our burgers came with two onion rings.

  7. I enjoy the fact that you get to pick your own meat: from bison to elk to duck to turkey and more! the burgers were a bit messy, but delicious nonetheless. Will be returning to try more!

  8. Food: 5/5
    Service: 4/5
    Cleanliness: 5/5
    Decor & Style: 5/5

5/5 for originality. Love trying elk and bison burgers. It's tasty and a great place to grab lunch or dinner any time. Garage doors are open in the warm seasons which makes it very inviting.

Love the decor. Has funny decorations and a slight modern look at the same time. Very unique!
