Everything at this restaurant is organic! That's what they strive for. If you expect some typical burger, this is not your place. They have different types of meat for their burgers (not just the typical beef), so it's definitely unique. Their burgers are so delicious. You can either make your own burger or you can order a custom one that they compiled. I can not stress how delicious their burgers were. Prices are a tad steep, but you do pay for what you get- fresh ingredients and a delicious meal! If you're a burger person, definitely give it a try!
Bareburger for a Rareburger!
This burger joint ha locations all over NYC and I have been to most of them. Since this locations on the UWS you guessed it… It is filled with families and little kids running around.
Also don't forget to ask for crayons to draw because adults like to color too.
When I got here there was no wait and go a nice table along the wall the one downside was that the air conditioner for the building was really loud. The waitress who served us was really nice and I got the standard burger (beef, Colby cheese, stout onions, dill pickles, special sauce, on a brioche bun) , with fries to share that comes with dipping sauces and Brussels spouts because ya know I'm trying to stay healthy lol.
When the food arrived it came out perfectly and was delicious my burger was cooked exactly how I wanted it the fries were crispy and the Brussels sprouts were not to oily. This place has a number of great options most of it wont wow you but for the most part you will be consistently happy with the food!
In short:
– great service
– great food
– NYC burger chain
– don't forget to ask for crayons to draw with while you wait for your food
Friendly staff and decent service. Surprised to to such good quality of food from a chain. Had the buffalo chicken sandwich. Generous portion of blue cheese and lots of hot sauce. I had a bite of my husband's burger, a very small bite, because it was apparently too good to share. He likes his burgers… But luckily he was a little more liberal with the onion rings. VERY GOOD ONION RINGS. We abused the trio of sauces that came with our appetizer order of chicken fingers. I am in love smokey BBQ on the onion rings. I would definately go back.
Not all that happy with this location. Called in a pick up order, was told 15 min so I headed up. Ended up waiting for almost 30min and had to stand out in the heat with my dog roasting. I was just calling to cancel my order when they brought it out. I let them know I was pretty unhappy with the service but didn't really get any explanation or apology, they just hung up asap. They were busy, and I understand that, but in that case they should let people know they are running with delays. I wasn't even going to write this review because usually I would rather say nothing than complain but then I realised they forgot my drink too…and it's roasting out! Sorry Bareburger, this location isn't your best.
While Bareburger has multiple locations around NYC, this place exists in the upper west side closer to me! Even better that it's close to a bunch of stores and even Central Park.
My favorite thing to get is the Southern Caviar, which has bison meat, gooey pimiento cheese and horseradish sauce. They did cook my meat up a bit more than medium rare, but not a big deal. Since I'm riding the low-carb train, I had mine wrapped in that collard green wrap, which holds better than the traditional lettuce wrap and tastes even BETTER! (not better than bread though, but just as good)
Despite not having as many seats as other locations I've been, they were able to accommodate us immediately for our summer Saturday lunch. Even better that they had Teen Titans Go playing on TV for the big-kid in me.
Bare burger is one of the trendy 'farm to table' organic type of burger establishments that have been gaining popularity all around the US. They offer a wide selection of burgers ranging from beef, pork, elk, bison, and a few different veggie burgers. For what they do, they do right.
I dined at this particular location twice during my time in New York. The first time, my takeout order was perfection. I opted for the build your own veggie burger and adde cheddar cheese, along with the chickpea onions and the vegan bbq sauce. It was simply amazing! The second time, I ordered the same thing, but they somehow got the cheese selection mixed up and it kind of ruined the experience. The waitress brought out a slice of cheese that was cold as opposed to taking my burger back and remaking it correctly. It wasn't great. Their sweet potato fries are good, but not the best I've had.
Service was great both times, very friendly staff. Great location and close nearby several other businesses. The rating of your experience here will seem to reflect your burger selection, therefore choose wisely.
Disappointing at best. And I was so excited to come here. It is close by, and smells amazing as I walk by…
Because we were starving we started with French fries, half sweet potato half plain. Pretty good. All downhill from there…
The wine? hardly drinkable.
Kid grilled cheese? Meh
Caesar salad with grilled chicken.
Croutons gross.
Dressing delivered 10 minutes after salad.
Chicken delivered 10 minutes after dressing.
I had the quinoa patty burger which was decent. Except for the brioche roll, and I love a brioche roll. But this was flat and boring (with seeds!). I'm not an anti-seed-ite but there's a time and place for everything and a brioche roll is neither the time nor place for seeds.
$60 for a mediocre veggie burger, Caesar salad, Kid grilled cheese and glass of wine.
I'll try again but I'm not as hopeful as I was.
Soooo I had the blue elk burger which had an elk patty, Amish blue cheese, stout onions, bacon, and tomato fig jam on sprout bun (basically whole wheat bun).
OMFG. The best burger I've had in awhile. I was hesitant about having elk meat, but to be honest, tastes better than cow. Everything about this burger was perfect. Well, almost everything… I wish the bacon were crispier so it would be easier to bite into – instead it was almost like chewy Canadian bacon. I still tore that thang up. The tomato fig jam is damn good, reminiscent of sweet bbq sauce.
And thanks Matt for reassuring me about my selection – glad I chose this for my first Bareburger. Customer service is friendly and speedy. Oh! I dig their shirts – coincidentally I love grass too!
