  1. Dear foodies, don't be fooled by the average 3 stars this place has. It is one of the best in the area. I came in with friends and the waitress was energetic and seemed to enjoy her job, which makes the environment more welcoming. She might be new since previously I see people posted that the servers were rude.
As for the food itself I had the special which was sopa de camarron and that came with rice, a piece of thin steak and an avocado salad for only $7. There was not a lack of shrimp in the soup which I really appreciated since places can be stingy about that. The taste of the soup itself was good, not salty or lacking flavor. good. I did not care much for the rice or steak but I am not a rice person. The plate also came with pineapple juice, which tasted refreshing. My friend let me try her llapinganchos and though they lacked a bit of flavor, I felt like I had a pretty authentic Ecuadorian dish.

  2. So expensive for what it is. And the food took over 40 minutes. Do not come here unless you have at least 2 hours to eat. There is so many wait staff working but they all suck. The fried seafood platter was good. The fish especially. I didnt care for the shrimp. The beef from the carne asada was over cooked and flavorless. All the rice and beans came out cold. The sopa marinera was not thick enough. And the maduros werent riped and undercooked. I want my 180 back! Oh and they automatically add on the gratuity.

  3. I've left here two different times completely dissatisfied. You'd think that the three years of separation between my first and second visit would be enough to have the flaws worked out, but apparently not.

I don't like the exposed kitchen, something about having to watch them wash dishes and empty trash cans kills the mood. And I think the ceilings are too tall, it makes it seem really cold and boring in here. And I think the aloof and unavailable waiters should show just a little more interest in the patrons, rather than just when it's time to come collect their tip. And I think everything is too expensive.

e.g., for $26, before tax and tip, we got a single bowl with 5 different types of ceviche. Are you kidding me? For the same price, maybe even less, you could get a bowl of the most pristine ingredients prepared by the most talented chefs served by the most obliging waitstaff in the most sublime of surroundings. Instead, we got five bland sauces mixed together with five overcooked meats.
