  1. Beautiful restaurant with amazing views.  I've been here for a corporate party and on my own.  Service is good.  Food is good.  Aside from the views nothing is really that memorable.  I think it's a great spot to eat outside in the warmer weather and enjoy the views.  Don't expect the best meal you've ever had though.

  2. Let me not hold back my thoughts and take you on a trip  🙂

Talk about lovely and a few things come to my mind, some women, nature, countries that I enjoy, some more women , some jewelry,  and at the time of this review Battello 🙂 . Located in Jersey city's lil waterfront area, this place is all about the views. Battello takes full advantage of its location and views by having a huge open restaurant. The design caters to the views with large windows huge doors to open for outside dining, great lighting fixtures, and pretty much anything to enhance the intimate dining vibe. You will enjoy the views of the NYC mixed with the soft breeze off the river…. Or you might not depending on the weather I guess :). Rain or shine gotta enjoy the wine lol. It feels pretty chic in here. So 5/5 on the Ambiance

Does the elegance of the restaurant transfer over to the Presentation of the food?

Yesh! Every dish looked like it could have been made for Food Porn…..not that dirty hardcore stuff lol sorry peepz. This was that Elegant take your time and enjoy with your eyes seduction type. Really was impressed with every dish here except for the Lobster Risotto. The Lobster Risotto was pretty bland, I know some people don't have taste buds that crave spice n zest so they you might enjoy it. The steak was great but nothing that I could say had a rare one of a kind taste to it. Next few dishes were unique and one of a kind. The Egg Fettuccini with lamb was amazing, honestly I could have eat 5 lbs of this. Good thing the portions were well sized. The crab cake was also amazing. I don't even like crab cakes. My company for the night said it was the best crab cake she had ever had or experienced(all she does is fine dining), Definitely get it if you like crab cakes, you won't be sorry.
Dessert was good. I had their version of a chocolate lava cake. I don't recall the name but man it was so rich, to where it can taste bitter.

To sum it up all of the food here was well balanced and every ingredient played a role in this experience 🙂

Drinks- No….only part I didn't enjoy. I had the smoking mule and just felt it was too weak for me.

    Service was great!
They do validate parking ,if you park across the street. I just wish they had valet throughout the week but hey least you have free parking. We all know you can't find parking easily in this part of JC.

I would definitely come back again.

Hope you enjoyed the Review, Pictures, and Videos 🙂

  3. So… first thing first… don't get me wrong with this star business… it will be an overall of 4ish start on food and 2ish stars on service and the 3 stars on the packed parking lot so we have to park somewhere pretty far…
The view is absolutely beautiful… you can dine while enjoying the view of NYC… and that didn't get any better than that…
Parking… it's pretty small, and they ran out of space.. I don't know if they all belongs to the restaurant or some other places, but yes, they were full and have to park somewhere else (if you are lucky, you might find something close by, but we have to park at a lot somewhere and then walk back…
Food… it's better than I expected.. honestly I will say they are pretty good… they do offer lunch size at dinner time also, so that was nice.. and the price is decent…
But one thing that get me sad was that.. right I didn't get appetizer, and right I didn't get any alcoholic drinks… but didn't mean I am a cheap tipper or deserve bad service… we kindly ask for more bread twice and she nod and walk away… we ended up asking another person who brought out our entrées for bread and we ended up with 2… she never come and check on us and see how things were and if we needed anything… she just disappeared until it's time for ordering desert… we were going to order, but we didn't want to with that kinda of service, we left instead… I mean, in a fancy restaurant like this, I am expecting more… so sorry… 3 stars it is…

  4. Excellent restaurant with amazing views. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and the service was phenomenal. Also a great place to get a drink before or after.

  5. The view! WOW! You can see all of lower Manhattan, great view of WTC, and you are surrounded by skyscrapers and yachts in jersey city. They also have free parking! You literally drive through 2 sidewalks to get there… Kind of strange, but free parking is a huge plus for the area.

I went here Wednesday for happy hour. Mostly professionals leaving work dressed in suits. I would say dress to impress.. Although they did not seem to be enforcing any dress code (I wore jeans and sneakers)

They had great happy hour deals. Nothing was over priced like I thought it would be given the location. My bf had calamari that he absolutely LOVED. And I had the flatbread- which didn't look special but OMG the flavor! I think it had truffle oil on it.. Didn't give you any of the ingredients on the menu.. But it def had pieces of bacon!

I say this place is PERFECT for a date night or even a large groups of friends at the bar.

It is very well decorated with perfect lighting. The bar at the very end of the Pier had lights dangling from the ceiling and they continuously adjusted it as it got darker outside. It wasn't like they just had a day and night setting- they actually put some effort in and slowly changed the lighting.  I even liked the bathroom wallpaper.. Black, sparkles & high heels! I might copy for my home bathroom 😉

  6. This place delivers on the view.  Great atmosphere!  Come for the view and eat the food on special occasions.

Tuna carpaccio – very good- nice combination of flavors.
Grilled octopus – excellent!  Nicely spiced.
Local sea bass – this was good not great
Hanger steak – medium-  this was ok

  7. Sunday's are for brunching and I'm glad I ended up here this time. We grabbed a spot at the bar in the center room overlooking the water, yachts and the NYC skyline. The bartender let us know that they just updated the cocktail list so I skipped the usual bloody mary and went we the Summer Thyme and my boyfriend got the Green Flash. We were starving at this point so we ordered the chicken and waffles and the fried egg bruschetta. Both were unbelievable; the chicken and waffles had a sriracha honey glaze instead of syrup on perfectly crispy chicken and it was heaven. It took everything in me not to lick the plate clean. The fried egg on top of a crispy corn palenta was also to die for.
I was also pretty surprised that it wasn't overly expensive. You think it would be because of the location and the beautiful view that's not the case. Up next is a romantic dinner for two 🙂

  8. End of a long wharf, you'll find Battello. Some parking here.

Popped in here for a brunch. Place was empty around 11am and yet, they were figuring out whether or not they could seat the two of us as they had a lot of reservations later… guess they didn't want all those empty seats to be used and then held longer against the reservations? Still.

Service here is slow… leisurely is probably the right way of stating it. The servers take a while to take orders, the busboys are joking around as my water glass was empty… yeah. Didn't make a great impression on me.

Food – the soy glazed chicken wings were crisp and the fresh bleu cheese was light and didn't quite mesh. If they made them in buffalo sauce, they'd be better. The waffle with fresh creme and fruit was solid, though the syrup they gave lacked depth of flavor – it was just sweet.

The short rib hash – forget it. The eggs on top were done well, but the hash was not fall-apart, it was more like Campbell's beef stew underneath = The flavor was lacking.

Overall, better service and better food… will have to try the other appetizers another time, they looked good (calamari, etc.).
