We stopped at Battery Place Market for some lunch, but we ultimately din't buy any food because it looked unappetizing and there was not a large selection.
The layout here is just like any other market, with the sandwiches in a display case. However, all the food looked like it had been sitting there for a while, and so I wasn't about to overpay for some old sandwiches. Outside of the display case, there wasn't much selection for lunch.
Ultimately, we bought some water and then walked out. There are plenty of food options in this alleyway, like a Shake Shack in a salad place, so maybe that's why nobody buys food here.
This new Battery Place Market (BPM) location at 200 West (Goldman Sachs Building) offers a diverse selection of specialty packaged foods for lunch goers on the run. Boasting a clean layout centered around a prepared food and fresh sandwich counter, it provides amazing access and convenience for patrons to go through the entire store within minutes and find their choice of prepared and packaged foods. Sandwiches are made with fresh ingredients on the spot, and a solid selection of veggie dishes and soups provide a great deal of appeal for healthy eaters. This BPM location also distinguishes itself with an espresso/coffee bar, helmed by award winning baristas, brewing Stumptown Coffee and other specialty coffee drinks. The BPM espresso machine is an amazing, robust piece of technology, very much the "iPhone" of espresso machines.
Open late hours to undoubtedly accommodate the hardworking Goldman employees, BPM is also an excellent option for dinner and late night snacks. One can pop into for a snack or drink until 1am from Monday through Thursdays, 11pm on Fri/Sat, and 10pm on Sunday. Delivery and catering is available out of the 77 Battery Place location.
