  1. Awesome tomato soup and grilled cheese. Can't ask for a better combination soup and sandwich.

  2. If you haven't ever witnessed cheese being freshly made, have you ever really lived?! Probably not.

Grab a drink from the upstairs bar and watch some cheese being made while you wait for a table in the cellar. The food here is divine!

I went with a large party and it seemed like we ordered just about everything in the menu and then some.

Mac and cheese sampler? Delicious! Charcuterie plate? Can't go wrong! We also tried the mushroom tart, asparagus and burrata for veggie dishes; as well as gnocchi with sausage, octopus and short rib for the meat dishes.

Everything was delicious. I will return.

  3. Had the original ("world's best") mac and cheese at the office via Trycaviar. I really liked it – it involved a variety of high quality cheeses, and was on the tangy/bitter side, which I prefer.

  4. Do you like cheese? If you don't like cheese, don't go to a place called Beechers Cheese. Do you like cheese? If your answer is correct/yes, then guess what? You're in for a treat!

Like you, I wish someone had warned me that this place has cheese, like lots of it, on the menu. In a city that has restaurants like "Papaya Dog" (no dog on the menu) and "Shake Shack" (a burger joint), I feel like I can be excused for being uncertain about the menu. But no, it's cheese. Cheese, cheese, cheese. Grilled, Mac and, melted, on sandwiches, on pasta, on your soul forever.

    Cheeeeeessssseeeee.

We got the tuna melt, which was tuna plus cheese, and it was amazing. We also got the "Big Deal", which was about as big a deal as they claimed and was a great sandwich with turkey, ham, and a delicious aioli. Did I mention it had cheese? And the best part of all was the Mac and (you guessed it) cheese. Up there with The Smith as one of my favorites, don't forget to order it, no matter how overcheesed you are.

In conclusion, this place is the cheese!

  5. When I was little I lived about 50 miles from a cheese factory. On occasion my family would be driving by the town the factory was in, and if we were really lucky, my parents would stop and we would get a big bag of fresh cheese curds, or "squeaky cheese". The curds are especially squeaky and delicious when super fresh, so I haven't had a really good one in years. Then I went to Beecher's, where they make them in house right along my commute home. There is a scene in the movie Ratatouille where the evil restaurant critic comes in, tastes a bite of the ratatouille and melts as his childhood memories flash before his eyes. That is what happens when I bite into the Beecher's cheese curds. They are phenomenally good. I even bought a deep fryer so I can make homemade poutine with them. (Though they are best just eaten alone). I've heard the mac and cheese is great there too, I really need to try eating there instead of just walking off with my sack of cheese curds…

  6. Beecher's is a great spot that always delivers.  Their Mac&Cheese really is that good, but they have lots of other great things on the menu as well.  The upstairs is an easy place to pop in for a glass of wine or casual meal.  The cellar downstairs is more festive but can get crowded and loud and keep a wait.  It's definitely worth the wait though.  They also have a really nice weekend brunch in the cellar that is not crowded at all!

  7. This review is only for the restaurant.

A friend and I ordered the daily happy hour cocktail which was something with jalapeno. Whatever it was, it didn't taste good at all. For our meal we ordered the "World's Best Mac & Cheese" which I would not put on my list of the 100 Best Mac & Cheeses. We also got the Balsamic Mushroom & Fennel Mac & Cheese and it just didn't work. None of the ingredients went well together, it was pretty bad. I'd give the mac & cheese and those cocktails 1-2 stars. Honestly the only good thing about this place is the ambiance. It was decorated so nicely that I'd probably go back and try something else, but the fact that a place that specializes in cheese makes horrible mac & cheese is a pretty bad sign.

  8. I'm shocked at the high reviews here. The cheese was hugely substandard, and the meal was small and over priced. I ordered the macaroni and cheese which taste so grainy I can't believe people enjoy it.

It was cool to watch the cheese get made, but I recommend you stop by just to see that, not for eating. The cookie was alright also!

Skip this place, unless you look for ambiance alone in restaurants. If you really just love food, you'll be hugely disappointed. At least the decor was nice!
