  1. It's just a basic Italian Deli as you walk in: the clear, clean glass displaying all the cold cuts and sides. It has limited seating. As you look up at the menu, you notice the names for each sandwich like the Godfather or Genoa, those are the two I usually order. Each contain a certain cold cut with fillers like peppers and tomatoes. You can ask to adjust as you like.

What makes this deli so good: when you order the staff taking your order are friendly and very cool. You can see them making your sandwich, for the most part, everything is prepared okay. Their subs are not topped in layers like a stack of books but rather layered in an oval looking shape filled and densely packed. They are very filling and delicious. The meat is good and combos made right.

I would give this place a five star rating but it lacks a few things here and there. The reason I give this place a 4 or 4.5 star rating is because they are good subs but not the best quality I ever eaten. In comparison to other delis it's overall family/neighborhood feel for the category it's in and the location gets it a high mark. The food is good, filling and the service is excellent.

  2. Its the only deli in the area so some items can be over priced. The coffee here is not worth getting but its always busy here, bc of the lackof anything else. I enjoy their breakfast sandwiches but luch is always hit or miss for me.

  3. Benateri's Italian Gourmet Deli is conveniently placed deli in this cramped little neighborhood. It's surrounded by commercial and residential buildings. Time Warner, NYPD, and many other private owned companies are all located within this section of 14th ave along the coast. It's a fairly small deli that provides a good amount of tables and seats. I ordered a BLT and a beverage one morning and found the service and quality exceptional. Everyone was courteous and friendly. There's also free Wi-Fi complimentary of Time Warner Cable. It's a pretty neat spot to grab breakfast and lunch for the workers in the neighborhood. The only downside about this area, NOT the deli, is the parking. The streets can be somewhat narrow and many large 18 wheeler trucks would zoom by these small streets, make sharp narrow turns and damage many parked cars. I've seen it before and it is not pretty! So be very mindful of where you decide to park when you're in this section of College Point. Other than that, there is not much variety or choices to choose from if you're working in this area unless you're willing to lose your parking spot and drive out to College Point Blvd. Benateri's is the GO-TO spot for all nearby employees.

  4. Come here for lunch all the time since it's by my job. They have such a massive selection of heros and wraps that it's impossible to try everything. The NY's Finest and grilled chicken ala broccoli rabe are my favorites.

  5. Everytime I go here for lunch it is jammed packed, with mostly men. Which means the food must be plentiful and yummy because that is what men like in a food establishment. ahhaha. I am only half kidding!!!

On the menu there is so many different sandwiches. You can probably have a different sandwich everyday and not repeat a sandwich for over a month!

My favorite is any hot sandwich either panini style or a sandwich where the ingredients inside are cooked and warm. I am not a cold sandwich person. They even serve breakfast sandwiches.

    I never had a sandwich I didn't like at Benateri's.

Everytime I walk into Benateri's, I stare at the hot steam trays full of yummy food but always end up eating a sandwich. I saw my friend's portion of the hot food she ordered and thought it was too small a portion for the price. But that is just my opinion. That is why I always end ordering the sandwiches.
