  1. I'm really sick of the unorganized & consistently rude attitude I get from the people working here.

Every time I call I'm put on hold by multiple people several times, sometimes waiting up to 10 minutes. I've put my annoyance about this aside because I understand they are popular. But then I place my order, the girl on the phone tells me I need to add something for a delivery minimum so I add an extra bagel. When the food arrives, I'm charged the extra dollar or whatever for the bagel but it isn't in the bag. Its not on the reciept, either, meaning I guess the girl didn't even write it down, but the total still reflected it. So, I call and try and simply explain this, but the guy on the phone clearly doesn't give a shit what I have to say and rudely yells over me several times "WHAT DID YOU ORDER!?", as if I'm wasting HIS time. Okay pal! I only ordered this extra freakin bagel because I had to, then I'm charged and don't recieve it, and I'm inconveniencing YOU? Then to top it all off, the guy asks me if I want them to deliver it. I replied, "well, I paid for it, didn't i?", "okay we will send it", and he hangs up. Thank you so much, kind sir!

I've already written a review complaining & deleted it because management contacted me to apolgize, but its been a year and nothing has changed. One star because the bagels are good.

  2. This place just drives me totally and completely insane whenever I'm here. I deleted a previous review to give them another chance. But, man, I can't get over the way this place is run.

Incredibly slow service, for not that amazing a product. It would benefit management to spend some time watching the customer flow, and figuring out better ways of doing things.

    1) You can literally wait 10 minutes at the front of the line before anyone will acknowledge your presence. No, "Hey there", no "Welcome" no, "Be with you in just a moment." No eye contact. Nothing. This happens routinely. I always have to suppress the urge to just walk out. Is that the type of feeling you want your customers to have?

    2) They consistently get the order wrong, despite my repeating it three times. If you can't remember it, write it down. In fact, it would benefit all to have notepads. The time before this they forgot the order completely, leaving me waiting, and making me have the cashier twice check on it – backing her up, and making me feel like an ass.

    3) The salad station is right in front of where people order. The spit-glass doesn't go nearly as high as it should. In other words, people are spit-talking all over the ingredients. Make the glass higher, or cover the vegetables. Health department alert.

    4) Is anyone happy to work here? Anyone? Such misery on everyone's faces.

    5) It's not really routine to pay when you get to the end of the line. You mostly wait until the person making your order is done with your order. So, you wait in line to place your order, wait as it's made, then wait again to pay even after your order has been completed. Why can't I pay while the order is being made? I can? Why is the cashier walking away?

    6) Lite-FM on the radio? Can it not be the year 1985 in here?

This place needs much better organization. It can take 30 minutes from start to end and will stress you out in the process.

  3. The bagels are a good circular size with a lot of dough in depth. Soft like it was made fresh and they give a good amount of spread. I ordered the lox cream cheese spread on an everything bagel. Service can be slow as probably not a good time to come during rush hour in the morning. There is not a lot of seating so this is mainly a grab and go place. You'll be lucky if you get a counter seat by the window.

They have a bunch of items on their menu and an ample amount of spreads. The list on the chalk board is literally skies the limit. They also can make custom salads.

Great place to go if you want something quick and to your specific liking.

  4. Oh, I how I pine for NY bagels at home (Philadelphia.)

My friends live around the corner, so Bergen Bagels is frequently our go-to quick breakfast when I am visiting them. This time, I ordered an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese (uninspired order? maybe. reliably delicious when I am overwhelmed with options? yes) The last time I was here, I mistakenly did not mention I wanted my bagel toasted, so I made sure to note that this time. It wasn't a big deal, and after a long wait, my bagel wasn't that hot/toasty anyway.

There are so many intriguing options – avocado cream cheese, feta/pesto cream cheese, pumpernickel bagels, seven grain bagels. TOO MANY CHOICES.

Anyway, the service is slow and jumbled – but I got my food without problem. Some other people in my party had to wait 10+ minutes for a bagel. While waiting in line, it felt like there would be 5+ minute stretches where no one's order was taken.

Slow service aside, these bagels are delicious. Salty & bread-y things are my ideal food.

  5. Best bagel place in the area.  They moved into a bigger location down the block and I am so glad they did.  They have different flavors of cream cheese and they are all great.  My recent favorite is the dill CC. They are very generous w/ the amount of CC they add.  They have a small salad bar and fresh juice.  Prices aren't bad. Everyone is super friendly.

  6. I was in the neighborhood early Monday morning like 6am ughhhhh. And not being around in a long time passed by here and decided to stop in.

My bagel experience over the years has been a roller coaster ride. I have eaten bagels when you could get a bakers dozen for a dollar so you can say I have some experience.

Ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel and it was not tasting anywhere near cinnamon raisin at all wtf!!! It was barely toasted. Has quality gotten that bad in the bagel industry.

The coffee was alright and the total was $3 dollars but the cinnamon raisin was weak like it tasted strange no where near any cinnamon or even raisins. Sad really sad.

  7. Bergen Bagels – always there for you when you need them…

When its breakfast time and you're starvin' – uhh, hello – Bagels!

When its lunch time and you're still starvin' – sandwiches, salads made to order + a case full of Snapple's and Vitamin Waters, etc

When it's only 3pm and the day won't end and you need a little something to get you through til 5 – Half. Moon. Cookies!  (Best in BK!)

And apparently they're open until 7pm so I suppose if you're craving a little breakfast-for-dinner they've got you covered there.

So glad that I can count on these guys at all times of the day.  Yay for Bergen Bagels!

  8. Great place for a quick lunch stop. Lots of different sandwiches to choose from and as you might image from the name, everything can be served on bagels. They have a great selection of sides and spreads and for those who like chips at lunch, they carry Deep River brand Salt & Vinegar, which are in my opinion the best S&V chips.

I had the Reuben with mustard on a poppy seed bagel. I though the sandwich was going be kind of small on account of the size of the bagel, but they pile in the meat and sauerkraut and other fixins to make up for it. I was fully satisfied with the portion.

    Would come again!
