  1. Managed to escape from work to eat lunch out today and had a great time here.

I'm a sucker for outdoor seating (outdoor anything really) and solo dining with a book and the staff was attentive but not overly fretful so I was able to relax and do my thing.

I only really looked at the lunch menu but there were a ton of great vegetarian options. I ordered the veggie delight salad and it was so great. Definitely a vegetarian's salad because it had so much protein (boiled egg, two types of beans and avocado!).  There was a light dressing (some kind of oil?) and the alfalfa sprouts on top really pulled it all together-so good! I had it with an acai iced tea which was refreshing but a little sweet for my tastes.  They also had a summer salad with chicken that had mango that looked great too.

    I'll be back this summer : )

  2. My bestie initially invited me to brunch at Dudleys. But after given a quoted a 40 mins wait and witnessed how crammed the space was, I suggested that we check out Berkli parc down the street.

Best decision (thus far) of 2016! Not only was the cafe welcoming and spacious, we were led to a table right away! Our server/barista, Emily, was beyond attentive and sweet. She took great effort in explaining the menu and in making various recommendations according to our cravings/needs!

My bestie and I ultimately ordered a sandwich each (ham and egg, the veggies) and a chai latte. Wished we had known how ginormous the sandwiches were going to be! We literally ate two whole meals in one sitting! The sandwiches were stacked high and fully loaded. Soft yet toasty multi grain bread, fresh avocado slices, meaty tomato, earthy alfalfa sprouts, sweet carrot shreds, soft cream cheese spread, and tangy Asian salad dressing – it was one of the best veggie sandwiches I've ever had!

Perfect for my eating goal/habit for the new year – healthy, filling, and soooo satisfying! Best part? It was only $10 for this beastly sandwich! Way cheaper than what I would had paid and twice the portion I would had gotten at Dudleys! Can't wait to return to sample the rest of the menu!

  3. Not many places around LES that are not crowded during wkd brunch hours. Sat for salads and coffee. I liked my summer chicken salad only hoping that the mango would be fresher. They have specialty (flavored) latte, not bad either. $20/person tip included, if I was hungry and didn't want to wait in line for the other restaurants I would go again.
PS they also have outdoor seatings

  4. I came here on a nice day for the sole purpose of coffee and chatting. The problem with chatting is they have loud music inside — really not ideal. The good thing was that the outdoor seating was nice and quiet. They have all your standard coffee bar options, as well as a few unique ones. I had a California style latte, which had a hint of chilies in it. I thought it would be weird, but it was actually quite nice! I looked at their brunch fair, and I would like to come back and try it next time.

  5. as a California native, it's hilarious to me that this cafe is entirely dedicated to uc Berkeley. but I'm not complaining because it's such a sweet location to swing by, grab a cup of joe or a bite to eat and study.

I got the California summer salad with a cup of bourbon vanilla latte. the latte was meh. it definitely could've been richer for "premium vanilla" as our server declared it was. and the salad was really large – much larger than I had expected for an $8 salad.

my only gripe is that it was served in a bowl and so all the dressing sunk to the bottle rendering the last 1/4 of my salad inedible and soggy. they give so much grilled chicken I ended up not finishing everything either.

but the overall atmosphere is great and I could see why people would want to come to this place with wifi to study for an afternoon!

  6. This place is as good as it gets in a relaxed, casual eatery. After an afternoon of not feeling so well, I strolled to this spot to get their grilled chicken salad, and it filled me up. I especially appreciated the mango and avocado slices in this salad, and the chicken was well seasoned and moist: grilled to perfection.

I oftentimes come to Berkli Parc solo, since I don't always like to eat dinner at my place of residence so I don't mind coming here independently to read and eat. The servers are so kind in chatting with me and refilling my water when I need it.

I like that the interior of this place gets dim and the atmosphere is candelit after 5pm. That doesn't mean the ambiance gets romantic, but it does adds just the right touch of class to a very cozy place.

  7. Stumbled upon this place as I was cafe hopping in search of a new place to study.

The two giant communal tables that seat 8 people each is for people using laptops/studying. Otherwise, the outdoor seating and side tables are for patrons who are only dining.

I got a matcha latte and it was quite light. I also got a BLTA (A for avocado) sandwich and it was delicious. Nice presentation because it's served on a mini cutting board.

I would come back for studying!

    *free wifi

  8. Solid Cal alumni cafe bar. Because barcafe just sounds wrong.

On any given day or night of a given Cal game, you can expect a packed house. In fact if you arrive after the game starts, you can count on there being a bouncer, who will ask you if you are a Cal alumni before allowing you to enter. Don't worry, we also love any one who's willing to root for Cal.

Great game day menu. I highly recommend the beef sliders. Your stomach will thank me. During the summer/early fall, they even offer coconut water from a REAL coconut. What???? Amazing pumpkin lattes, although all the lattes are legit and are not too sweet. Big TV's. Solid customer service. What more could you ask for?

Only suggestions are somehow figure out how to import Triple Rock's Monkey Head, host a Beat the Clock alumni event, bring back the I Oski NY shirt, and lastly, could you add the pumpkin pancakes to the afternoon/evening menu?
