Seriously though, I can't let this slide. I was born to eat doubles. Seriously. I have quite simply the most advanced doubles palette ever assembled. Because of this, I eat as many doubles as possible, and I'm not afraid to try doubles all over the place. I always walk pas this place so I decided to stop in and get some phoulourie and doubles. The phoulourie was good, not great, but good. The doubles on the other hand…were flat out bad…terrible even. They didn't have tamarind (what?) to put on the doubles, so i got pepper and mango, and that still couldn't save it. It just wasn't good…at all. I've never had anything else here, but I can't see myself going back to this place…especially since i've heard from other very reliable sources that their food is not good…pretty much all the time….
My family and I have patronized this business for years in spite of the horrendous customer service, but today was the last time. I gave the cashier a slightly ripped bill when paying (which I was unaware of).
I frequent this place weekly and have for years, so in no way would I be trying to rip them off. Once the owner realized (the man who sits at the cashier all day and counts the money) he yells for me to come back and in a very rude, flinging motion hands my bill back to me and says "you gotta do better than this. I don't want this".
I am nothing but overly polite whenever I enter this establishment and always leave wondering why the attitudes are SO horrible. I told him there's a way to speak to customers and he replies with "there's a way to do things" and accused me of intentionally giving him a ripped bill. Another server had to interject in my defense to explain to him that it was not intentional. The owner's level of unprofessionalism and arrogance is despicable.
This is horrendous considering the frequency I eat here and loyalty I've had to this business for years. They will no longer be getting my money.
