“I order the "skinny pizza" – baked right in front of you in the brick oven.”
“Being on the UES, I don't normally trek to the UWS, but I would definitely come back to Bettola another time.”
“The service was excellent and the summery, late night, outdoor seating provided fun views of locals walking by.”

divinely average, but the pizza is good. You come here for the pizza, as good as everything else sounds, stick with the pizza.
The sausage one with carmelized onions is divine.
Very quick in and out here to join some friends before a concert in the city, so my "review" is essentially of an order of meatballs I bought for myself before dashing off to the concert. Now, a review on meatballs might sound ridiculous, but from my experience, not many places get it right. Right meaning similar to how they have been made by the Italians in my family for as long as I can remember. Bettola nailed them, more so than any place I've dined at. They were perfect. Not too much garlic, which is where most restaurants fail. Not too big and certainly not "pre-fab'd." Sauce was traditional and meat was fresh. To me, this is an indicator of how the rest of their Italian food must taste, so I plan to revisit soon and sample an entree along with the free bottle of wine with my next check-in!
Cute cozy place.
Came with friends and we enjoyed everything we had. Starters-grilled calamari and barley salads were standouts.
Mains- Fettuccine and penne pasta dishes were good but portions were very tiny for the price. The pizza special I ordered was gargantuan and between the three of us, we couldn't finish it.
High quality food, friendly service (although a bit pushy on asking if you want water you pay for). Portions could be a bit larger on pasta and the space is super tight, but those are minor quibbles.
I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday brunch here today. We were seated right outside away without reservations (surprisingly) and I had no complaints about the service. My poached eggs with prosciutto was delicious and it came with a side salad. I normally do not like paninis, but my bf's pollo (grilled chicken) panini was delicious as well.
I was pleasantly surprised by this little Italian spot. I mentioned to my friend that I was craving pizza and she suggested Bettola.
I love it when other people suggest places so I decided to go knowing nothing of the establishment.
On a beautiful summer day, they have the entire front of the place open so you can get some great fresh air while sitting outside or inside. I tried the prosciutto pizza which was fantastic. When the waitress sat the pie in front of me, the scent brought me right back to Italy. The crust was exactly how I like it. Thin, crisp and light. Just the right amount of cheese and sauce. The prosciutto got a little dry towards the end, but I'll blame it on me being extra chatty that day.
I tried a bit of my friend's gnocchi which also tasted nice and fresh. It was slightly overcooked but still pretty good. Maybe 4.75/5 stars. Keep in mind that I am crazy picky about gnocchi.
All in all, great lunch spot. I will absolutly come back if the UWS calls.
I had a pretty decent experience here. The food was basic Italian, but done really nicely and the portions were generous. We were also able to snag a free glass of wine for checking in via Yelp. The restaurant wasn't too busy and the service was quick and friendly. The warm bread and yummy olive oil at the beginning of the meal was a welcomed surprise. I liked the use of fennel in my pasta – I don't think I've ever tried that before. I'll definitely be back when the next time I'm craving Italian.
Nice restaurant, good food, service was ok – nothing too special though.
Bettola, Bettola!
I've been here on a couple of occasions, once to celebrate my mother's birthday and the next to celebrate Christmas with a nice brunch.
Both times were nothing short of a great experience, the first time I had lamb, which I could have done without. It was nothing out of the ordinary but it did the job. Their wine and their dessers are pretty tasty though.
The second time I went in for their brunch special, and that's when I was hooked! Their lentil soup is incredibly tasty and their salmon with vegetables and/or mashed potatoes were excellent. Their brunch menu was pre-fixed and extremely reasonable pricing at $16. A great deal in NYC!
It's got a very classy decor, very intimate, which makes it a great spot for a date also.
Last but not least, their service was great. Attentive and fast. Will definitely come back, again and again as it has become a family favorite!
