  1. Everything was too greasy.  I had vegetable lo mein and vegetable spring rolls.  The amount of grease in the spring rolls was alarming.  My guy had beef with broccoli and thought it was under seasoned (he actually added salt) and felt icky afterwards because it was too greasy.

  2. WARNING!

    We ordered food for delivery:
    1 Large Wonton Soup
1 Hunan Chicken with Brown Rice
    1 Large Chicken Lo Mein
    1 Small Pork fried rice

The lady first hung up on me and said I didn't order enough for the minimum.  OK, so I called back and added the Pork fried rice.  Then I asked her how much it was, and she told me $32.50 and hung up.  Now their minimum to deliver to my area is $20, so how did adding a Pork Fried Rice turn into $12.95.  This isn't some fancy specialty fried rice.

1 HOUR later, I have no food so I call back and no answer.  It's still 15 minutes short of their closing time, but no answer. I called 3x.  At this point, I gave up and just assumed I would get no food.

20 minutes after that, I get a delivery.  I compare the check against the menu and ask him why the charges are so different.  The menu says $2.95 and the billing says $4.95.  So I show him my menu and he goes, oh thats the old one.  I haven't ordered in a while so I suppose that is possible, so no big deal, I'll pay it and it will never order again because the prices are obscene.

Then I open up the bag and it is their "new" menu instead my delivery bag.  IT'S THE SAME PRICES!!!  So i dispute it, and he goes you need to just call them and talk to her on the phone.

  3. A Chinese restaurant I actually like! My boyfriend is so happy. He's always craving Chinese and I never want it. There hasn't been a go-to Chinese place in JC until we ordered from Big Chef.

My boyfriend ordered the wonton soup and chicken & broccoli. I ordered the chicken fried rice. Our delivery came pretty quickly. Usually, when we order delivery, we get our food in an hour, which is crazy. At Big Chef, our order arrived in 30 minutes. My boyfriend ordered from them another time and he said it came in 20 minutes that time. Pretty good considering the average wait time in JC.

The wonton soup was delicious. It tasted really good and the crispy noodles made it even better. They were just freshly fried when our order came. My boyfriend really liked his chicken & broccoli. I stole some of the broccoli and I must say, it was delicious, especially with the sauce. My chicken fried rice was much more brown in color than I expected, but that was the only thing I didn't like about it. I was afraid the color meant that the rice would be drenched in soy sauce and taste salty, but it didn't. Rice was steamed and soft.

Overall, great Chinese place and we will be ordering from here more often!

  4. This place is pretty decent: we always do the same things: fried dumplings, scallion pancakes…. the wide flat noodles with broccoli and chicken, and general tso's chicken. A few times, the GT chicken came a bit extra-crispy, but other than that, its the standard chinese food. Unlike other people, we havent had any issues with delivery – they always call us when they arrive and its been easy to grab the food, sit and eat while its still hot
