  1. It's tough to objectively review a place that is in complete contradiction with the positive goals of my liver.

    That said, the liver is one of many organs and is seemingly easy to replace if one has the funds, which matches perfectly with my Powerball-based financial plan.

    Until then, I'm a somewhat cheap bastard when it comes to booze because I tend to mix it with other things, thus ruining any intrinsic craftsmanship that merited the original price.  Don't get me wrong… I do like a fine wine, aged spirit or even a premium tequila one can sip from a snifter.   But on most nights when I want an adult bev, I'm fine with whatever goes with tonic/coke/soda/juice.

    Hence the challenge.  Those brave and good purveyors of spirits in Brownstone Brooklyn have to maximize their profits in order to meet their lofty rents.  As such, their variety is sometimes limited.

    Big J's benefits from being off the beaten path.  Or more like, being under the beaten path.  If there's a Bermuda Triangle in Brooklyn, you can't find a more pummeled place than being under the BQE, while also under the failing F/G train overpass, and next to the toxic Gowanus canal output.

    This isn't a bad thing.  Rather, it fosters and promotes a wonderland of industrial meets retail.  A real, big Home Depot.  A real, big Lowes.  And in this case, a real, big liquor store.  It's not huge by West Coast standards, but it's pretty big and they've got a decent variety across all price points.

  2. The second cheapest place to buy hard liquor in Brooklyn.  This difference between this place and Brooklyn Liquors is that this place has a huge wine selection.  If you find a wine you really like and buy a case of 12, you'll get 10 percent off.  They also have any well-known name brand of hard liquors you could ask for.  Plus they are conveniently located in the Pathmark Shopping Center so don't forget the limes and cranberry juice.

  3. Found and purchased the brand new Glenlivet Guardians chapter, love this store! Excellent selection of whisky. Scotch and American. The store has alot of everything. They also have a whole bunch of stuff on sale daily. Very nice liquor store!

  4. Solid liquor store with excellent prices and a good selection.  Not much more you can ask out of a liquor store.  They have a much larger liquor selection and comparable pricing to my normal go-to discount liquor store.  Saw a few bottles at certain sizes that I have not seen elsewhere.  Salute!

  5. Who doesn't like an easy access liquor store where you can get your wine and  spirits right after you purchase your 20 roll pack of scott's toilet paper?!

    It does the job by being right there, but it seems to be a little more expensive than your regular neighborhood store price. Nonetheless, you will find what your looking for when it comes to your scotch and whiskey. However, for wine I will say they are not as extensive as my fave neighborhood spot.

    So if you you want to go to one spoke for your groceries and spirits, you won't be disappointed.

  6. Cheap
    Liquor;
    Gowanus
    Canal. Long jaunt
    To subway. Lots of car (not bike) parking.
