Bill’s Bar & Burger

“Much like the old Hog Pit, Bill's is an inexpensive oasis in the sea of $20+ drinks that is known as the meatpacking district.”

“if you're as into shake shack's shackburger as i am, then bill's sunset and vine is your "no time for lines, i need a burger stat!"”

“First visit – solo, sat at the bar, ordered the Fat Cat burger, a "Cold Ass" beer, and sweet potato fries.”

  1. This place was expensive for what it was.  It had great staff though, and our waiter was so friendly.  My burger was okay.  If the place is crowded, you're definitely on top of each other because the tables take up much of the space.  I do like the location, it's easy to get to.  The drinks were great!  It's a very casual place to meet for dinner.  I don't think I would ever come here again.  The burger wasn't anything to come back to, though.

  2. This place is cramped. Expect to get to know your neighbor really well. Also, there's no AC, so prepare to sweat if you come here during the summer.

However, the food makes up for it. I got the sliders which came with all the fixins' you could possibly want. They were just the right size, and cooked just right. We shared a basket of their classic fries, which was just enough for us.

The tap selection is decent — there's about 6 or 7 taps available. For the more picky types, there is a bottle and can list that runs you about the same price as a beer on tap (but for less ounces and less freshness, of course).

I would definitely come here again, but would hope to actually sit at a table next time.

  3. I may have to try this place again, i think i ordered wrong. Cuz i wasnt really digging the bills brew, i guess its not my type of beer. And the bbq wings were decent but nothing really special. Maybe its silly of me to order that at a burger spot. The cheese fries were hella on point tho. That alone is temptation enough come back, its some quality ass cheese. Haha.

  4. I Came here after been near the area, one of my cousin harass my neck to find this place he wants to come so bad because he had heard so many good things about the burgers

I and my cousin had to sit in the bar because the place was so packed(so this was a good signal telling us that the food was very good). The restaurant gives a free chocolate milkshake to the yelper when they check in. The milkshake  was amazing.

I  order the BBQ Bacon Burger and fries on side yes you have to order fries on the side because the burger doesn't bring it.

The BBQ Bacon Burger is a nice smoked mozzarella cheese with a great BBQ-bacon mayo's sauce, fresh market lettuce, sliced tomato, a dill pickle and with a crispy onion ring inside of the muffin. The burger was small, but don't get fool, sometimes a good thing come in small packages, and thanks, God this was not the exception. Trust me this will leave you very satisfied and with a great flavor to your palate. The fries had a good taste.

Our server (the bartender) was very nice and fast.

PS: Seeing the restaurant so pack that day, only told me that next time when I go with a more people, I will call in advance and make a reservation. I do recommend to do the same.

  5. The waitress we had was lovely.. The space nice and trendy, high stools/trestle tables etc.. The food, well I had the "Bill's Burger" it was fine, meat not overly cooked and seasoned well but the plain burger was that… not fantastic, but fine for the price.

  6. Great spot for a beer and a burger when you are in meatpacking district and don't feel like spending all the money or being sceney. Spicy jalapeno burger was great and the fried pickles and peppers were awesome (that dipping sauce!) good service too. solid spot.

  7. I came here on a Sunday night. We got sat down quickly for a table of 4. The only thing that bothered us was the service. If we haven't had asked for a server, it probably would of taken them a good 30 mins before taking our order. Also, the manager said they would give us a round of drinks on him, but he never came back nor did our server asked us what we wanted to drink because he didn't know about it. Overall, they ended up giving us 4 cookies and cream milkshakes and comped part of the bill. I could of gotten the cookies and cream milkshake for free anyways  because there was a yelp offer if you check in. Server also forgot to get my milkshake until the end when I said I wanted it in the beginning. The food was good though.

  8. This place is just okay.. Nice location but crowded and not a fan of the decor. Food is so-so but at least they always have seats for football when Standard Biergarten doesn't.
