The owners of DaNoi opened up another gem! Eddie, the owner, knows what the islanders like and continues to impress. I had always had superb service from the waiter Victor when he worked at DaNoi on Victory. Now he's the only waiter at Bin 5, so I tend to come here more often to eat. He is efficient, friendly, knows the menu well and is flexible with adjusting dishes to how you prefer them. Bin 5 is small, but that's part of the reason I like it. It can be very romantic for a date. To begin they give you hummus and bread. Then I recommend ordering one of the special salads. I really like the fresh mozzarella salad. As an entree, the black linguini is the best I have ever tasted. Another home run for the owners!
When i heard this place opened i was dieing to check it out. Especially having ties with one of my fav restaurants Da Noi. I made early reservations, around 5:30. We wanted to go early because we had a child and did not want to disrupt anyone else's dinner.
We found great parking right out front. The restaurant is beautiful. Very romantic. Def good for a first date or special occasion.
We checked out the menu and heard the unique apps and entrees. I love inventive chefs. We ordered a special the burrata with sauteed spinach, this was such a great dish the creaminess of the burrata and the sauteed spinach it went so well. We also ordered from the menu avocado with crab meat and honey lime cilantro dressing, this was just so well balanced, tasted great. The duck and scallion rolls were crispy the duck was juicy and the dipping sauce was so good. Everything was well seasoned. The entrees we ordered was the salmon wrapped in potato and the filet mignon stuffed with lobster unfortunately this fell short it was overly salted. I really wanted to love this!! I really did. I think it was because the chef and manager were in a meeting in the dining room while we were eating. Guys dont have a meeting about your website while patrons are in the restaurant! I am not writing this restaurant off completely, its def good i think maybe ill come later next time.
This was my second visit to Bin5. They are definitely growing and changing for the best, creative food and good drinks.
No drink menu is always a minus for me, but they do have full bar and accommodate all requests. I just find it easier to order drinks from menu and not to think about it. Never less, Orange Martini was exceptional, so as other drinks on my previous visit.
As I mentioned, menu is changing, and I found it surprisingly good this time. Mushroom rice balls intrigued me, and they were deliciously crispy and tasty (could use more seasoning in the filling).
Veal Muffalata was great, definitely worth trying, I will be ordering it again!
Rounded up with Lavazza coffee and Tartufo, it was a perfect meal.
Keep it going, Bin5!
This was my second time at Bin 5 and I'm glad I went back. I love the bread and hummus they give you to start! We got the coconut shrimp to start (only comes with 4 shrimp, so if you like it, order two portions). My friend & I split the pasta special, which was black linguine carbonara, and the salmon dish. We also split the oreo mousse cake, which was okay, nothing to rave about. Our actual food was good & there are still items I would like to try. The decor is beautiful, very cozy. Our waiter was a little too much, but still nice.
What a great little place! The service is by far the best on the Island. The staff is welcoming, friendly & attentive. The food exceeded our expectations. We had an appetizer special, drunken mussels- which was excellent. Our server even brought out extra bread for us to dip in the delicious sauce. My husband had the chicken special & I had the pork special (thin cut, boneless, in a mushroom sauce). We both found our entrees tasty and thoughtfully prepared. For dessert, we had the limoncello cake, which was also great. We will certainly be back!
Great restaurant on the island. Ordered the short rib parpadelli and it was fantastic.
I came here for a birthday celebration and everyone enjoyed their entrees.
It took me a while to get over and try Bin 5, but it was well worth waiting for. The food, service and ambiance was excellent. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by the staff and shown to a table. The waiter expertly described the specials and was very knowledgeable about the menu. For an app, we had the drunken mussels. The broth was out of this world. I wanted to take a straw and drink it all up! Entrees were also spot on. The menu is a nice change from typical "red sauce" joints. Desert and coffee were excellent and we were surprised to be given a complimentary glass of desert wine. It was a perfect way to end the meal! All in all, Bin 5 far exceeded my expectations. I am looking forward to my next meal here!
This is definitely a place I would go back to. I was here for a tasting with friends and everything we had was well sauced and well seasoned- 2 things i think are pretty important. The atmosphere is elegant, but not stuffy. Service was very good and when the wine came to the table, I thought I was at my own house that's how full it was. I mean probably a 3rd bottle per glass. Worth the $8. Will definitely be coming back here to try their eclectic menu.
