Being used to live in Philly, I was so happy that I found this place. I miss having a good pho joint especially during colder months. Their pho is really awesome and very straight forward.
Don't expect to receive five stars service in this place, however you will get a prompt bowl of pho. If you order summer rolls, they will come as soon as you close your menu.
Very affordable and sublime especially after a night of binge drinking, a bowl of pho will surely cure the worst hangover that you have.
This place is small and has limited seats so don't worry service is fast and the table is being turned over rather quickly.
Awesome place!
I've been trying to find a good Viet place to eat out at because when you're in Jersey, your choices are very limited. I came here based on the great reviews and I thought the food was just very mediocre. It could be because I didn't get the pho, I don't know? But I ordered the Bon Bo Hue which is my favorite Vietnamese dish and I thought the meat (the pork) did not taste fresh at all. I also ordered the Thai tea to drink which was good but nothing special – just like any other place.
Parking could be a little challenging even though it's in a lot. The parking lot is shared with other businesses and it's small. I came here on a weekday night and had to wait for parking. Upon walking in, the restaurant was popping! The restaurant itself is pretty small and there is no décor. This place is definitely a hole in the wall; people definitely just come here for the food. I came here with just one of my friends and we were seated at a 6 person table because that was the only available table. In the middle of our dinner, one of the staff members asked us if it was okay if 2 other people sat at the same table as ours. We didn't mind this, but I just wanted to let you all know that this place can get cramped!
Would I come back? I'm not dying to come back but if I did, I would definitely try another dish, probably the pho. If you like to eat Bon Bo Hue, I personally like it better at Saigon Pho in Parsippany. Service was quick which is always a good thing. It's probably better to come here earlier because it gets busier later on in the night. FYI – credit card minimum is $15.
Excellent Vietnamese food in the heart of Essex County, amazing. The food is authentic, delicious and really fresh.
The Pho is really great. I've had the Pho with grilled pork chops (2), you can't beat the price either, $8.50 for a huge bowl of soup with a side dish of two thinly cut pork chops that are seasoned to perfection.
All the dishes I've had here are fantastic, the Lemongrass Beef over vermicelli, the spring rolls, summer rolls, all amazing and price is really phenomenal.
The restaurant is also packed with Vietnamese people, which is an excellent indicator of the authenticity and quality. There's a fantastic Chinese bakery across the way in the same shopping center, I suggest you check that out too, bring home some dessert after.
Can't go wrong here, try everything, check the photos here if you're unfamiliar with the cuisine.
Really an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. We had the classic stuff, very tasty, lots of cilantro, mint and lettuce, with spring roll, curry chicken, rice noodles, with grilled pork, Vietnamese crepe with shrimps, perfectly cooked, all of it was very good, as good as in Tampa, where a large group of Vietnamese live and where with many restaurants there is a great variety of choice. Definitely a good address to keep, Their coffee was also very good.
My wife and I recently tried Binh Duong which I believe was in a Yelp email about Pho which is one of my favorite dishes. All in all we had a nice, inexpensive and tasty dinner.
Ambience: The restaurant is kind of divey and the space is a little cramped.
Food: The dishes we had were pretty damn good. I ordered a Beef Flank Pho and my wife ordered some chicken, vegetable and rice dish which was well made and tasty.
Value: My Pho I believe was $8.95 and my wife's dish was under $10 so all in all great value for the tasty, generously portioned food we received.
Service: Okay. The restaurant isn't fancy but when we needed service we received it.
Location: Strip mall with a decent sized parking lot.
This is a first ever – an updated review! I had not returned here for awhile but noticed the uptick in star rating and decided to give it a go. So glad I did. Ordered the spring rolls (you get 5 instead of the usual 4 at other restaurants – yum), vermicelli bowl with grilled pork (the grilled pork was plentiful, lean and just plain tasty), the large pho with flank (flank was lean; noodles were plentiful I heard; the soup savory & the bite I had was good), and the sticky rice with taro & warm coconut milk (the one I wanted was out and that was a favor because this was delicious – will be ordering this again). The service was great – the employee was more than happy to answer my food questions and recommended the taro sticky rice dessert. Can't say whether there is a change or not in the previously reviewed items because different items were ordered this time around. Will return.
Ordered the friend spring rolls and the pho with the beef on the side. Very good. I will definitely be coming back to this place. The food came out quick, the place is spotless, and even though it was pretty busy I was seated fairly quickly.
Does anyone else believe that pho is the cure all, especially when you're feeling under the weather?
I have my occasional pho cravings, but when I'm feeling sick it's the one thing that I always want to have!
I'll admit this isn't my #1 pho spot in NJ, but it's definitely in my top five.
I never stray from what I know will leave me satisfied and that's always a large house combo bowl.
Comes with everything except beef balls. You could always add these, or opt for a side of beef ball soup if ya wanna!
I've eaten here and also have ordered take-out and I do think they give more meat, tendon, and tripe, when you dine-in rather than take out.
They're always generous with their noodles and the broth is flavor-packed with aromatics, but if you're a pho broth connoisseur you'll immediately think…their broth could use a little more… SOMETHING!
The real reason this place makes it into my top five is because of their SPRING ROLLS! They only have 1 size (5 pieces) and I kid you not, you'll want the entire order to yourself!
They fry these to perfection (might even double fry them but don't quote me on that). The meat inside is perfectly cooked and juicy while the outer fried layer is crispy and piping hot.
Here's what I do, and a suggestion for you to do the same.
1. break a spring roll in half
2. submerge it in the dipping sauce (I tend to leave mine submerged for about a minute)
3. prepare your lettuce – usually half a leaf will suffice and add a leaf or 2 of mint
4. take the 1/2 of spring roll and roll it up in the lettuce (sriracha optional)
5. devour in one bite
Other items that are always consistently good (but not any different other pho places)
Summer Rolls
Thai Iced Tea
Cubed Beef with rice
Like others said, parking can be a b*tch, but at least they have a parking lot!
P.S. – Their avocado shake is the perfect sweet ending to the above meal!
