Birch Coffee

“If you haven't had Birch cold brew, then you've gotta do it and even try picking up a growler to feed your daily addiction.”

“And speaking of milk, Birch offers alternative options, including hemp milk, so even those who can't or don't enjoy dairy can enjoy a cup at Birch.”

“Cute library area in the back, although I don't think doing work would be too good here as the WiFi access only lasts an hour at a time.”

  1. The internet boots you off after an hour and you are coerced into buying another drink to obtain another password. This style of maintaining customer flow reads as passive aggressive to me, I wasn't a fan, especially since this is not mentioned anywhere.

A most charming little nook can be found in the right corner- slightly hidden when you first enter is an elevated table surrounded by book shelves. Try to snag it if you come with friends. I have an obsession with finding the best seat in the house.

    My gift to you.

I always long for natural sun when I am here. Allas, it is surrounded by tall buildings. And no matter the time of day it is packed. Between the noise and lack of light, it's too chaotic for it to be a regular routine for me.

Coffee is on point. Donuts from Dough.

  2. Loveeee the vibe here. Good mainstream oldies playing in the background. Great lattes, pretty decor. The people working here are quick, so I love it.

Nice place to catch up with friends, do some light reading or work – but no wifi or outlets! Boo.

  3. I really liked the interior, simple but yet warm atmosphere, and some industrial feel to it as well. We got there pretty early on the weekend, so it was almost empty. It got busy about the time we left though. Had large windows on the street side, lighting up the entire space with natural lights.

It had a nice, large table in the middle, with counter seats around the room. It had another section on the other side. This are had just a handful of smaller tables and chairs. If you don't want to sit at the counter or share the long communal table, you can sit in this area.

Right by this room was the most beautiful nook I have ever seen in a coffee shop. It had chandelier, long table, and lots of books on the bookshelves. It also had large window on the brick wall, which allowed lots of natural lights to come in.

Their equipment that makes Kyoto Drip was broken, so we had Espresso on ice and Flat White, and gorgeous donuts from Dough to go with them. The coffee was smooth and tasty, and the donuts were really great. The staffs here were friendly and helpful. I would love to visit this location again and sit at the library room for another peaceful moment. Read my full review of this coffee shop and food on my food blog, foodlovergirl.

  4. Needing a Saturday late afternoon pick me up, Birch was open in an area where most shops are done for the day. Inviting setup with couches in the corner, long tables in the middle and a straight forward menu.

Hot as all hell outside so got the regular large iced coffee ($4ish). Typical blend, added some milk and sugar at the station. One thing I didn't like is that they didn't have the simple syrup to add in. Adding sugar to an iced drink can be annoying, and makes for an unevenly sweetened coffee.

Friendly/quick service and the space is welcoming. Caffeine worked for a little bit but got I tired a couple hours later, so not the strongest batch out there. For your buck it isn't bad; food options look delicious.

  5. Great coffee. I had an amazing iced latte here once. They don't have wifi which is a bummer because it's a nice space to do some work.

  6. Mmm the hemp milk chai latte!! So so so good, my absolute favorite!! They also have to die for peanut butter and jelly cookies that happen to be gluten free. Addictingly delicious.

Cute space to grab coffee with a friend & catch up or get your drink and get out. Open tables and a small library in the back.

The only thing that bothers me is that they don't have wifi until 6pm on weekdays – why?? Give the people what they want Birch, give us wifi!

  7. Didn't try their coffee… I know! What was I thinking? Was more in the tea mood that day. That gives me a reason to go back no? The cafe is a decent size one, with big shared tables and smaller separate tables. It was quite busy/ crowded when I went on the weekend. It's definitely a good place to sit down for however long and chat with a friend or two. Personally, I don't feel this is the place to study, at least for me, because the it got really loud with everyone speaking in that space and an added layer of music. Unless you can read or study through all those noises, I really don't suggest this as a study place. I got some citrus flavored tea and I liked it since I enjoy citrus-y drinks. It was some hot tea, I accidentally spilled it on my hand. So be careful and don't be like me! But if you do get unlucky like me, tell the staff and they have burn cream. They were not hesitant to give me a cup of ice and let me use their cream. Also kept asking if I was alright. The cream helped a lot and my hand felt better really quickly. I ended up using the ice for my tea, making myself some iced tea. The staff were just so friendly. I would return for some coffee and/or try other things.

  8. Really good light roast coffee–very interesting secondary flavors. Didn't try the cookies, but the friend I was with gives them top marks. One knock is that the coffee shop was packed, but given the coffee I get it…
