  1. For a locally owned coffee shop, this place is reasonable priced and delicious! The barista working solo today handled the crowd well. It was getting busy, and she managed to stay positive and continue to make delicious drinks! She also very friendly! I ordered an iced caramel macchiato, which was strong & yummy! Usually, flavored drinks are very sugary, and I stay away from them. But reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided to try a caramel macchiato. It wasn't too sweet, and it was just the way i like it! It was $4 for a small (16 oz), which is a pretty good price! The barista also let me try a peanut butter blended coffee since she had some leftover from a previous order. It tasted OK, but I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter, so not something I would order again. I was glad I was able to try it though! Apparently, it's a very popular drink here! You can definitely create your drinks, add flavor shots, etc that is not on the menu. They also have fresh pastries, desserts, and bagels. I ordered a spinach pastry, which was good. I like how they heat it up in a toaster oven instead of a microwave. Overall, pretty good cafe!

  2. Great coffee house!

The barista is so nice and chill not to mention has some awesome hair. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable.

Two words…Magic Bar. It's this absolutely delicious dessert bar with coconut, chocolate and other tasty ingredients. Really took me by surprise how yummy it was. The regular coffee is perfect. I need to try their lattes and other coffee drinks. I believe they have acoustic music on Tuesday nights – will definitely check that out soon.

  3. Was at my daughter's track practice over at Brookdale Park on a COLD Spring day and simply needed to warm up. Stopped in at this cute little place right on Broad St.

Very nice personal touch kind of coffee shop with some cozy seating and some GREAT chai tea.  Tea was a little pricey, but I tend to be Scrooge when I have to pay for my own coffee or tea. They have all of the stand-by coffee and tea drinks and the woman behind the counter (don't know if she was the owner) was great.

Ignore the troll who gave Blend 1 star…clearly doesn't have a clue.  I will happily come back here.  Pretty sure a second visit will get them another star.

  4. We drive out of our way to get a blended coffee drink from Blend Coffee House.  Although I generally avoid sugary drinks (& definitely should have today after a cupcake in Montclair… Am writing this post sugar rush, with associated come down shakes…), the mocha is great on a hot day.

The service has always been extremely friendly.  It's not a rush in, rush out kinda place: they make quality coffee which takes a bit longer than your average coffee chain.  Inside is relaxed, with a number of tables and they also have a couple of outdoor tables for when the weather is nice.

They apparently have live (acoustic?) music one night a week.

They sell food, which all looks good but I haven't eaten there so this review does not take food into account.

  5. Great addition to the area.

While I like their coffee, I absolutely love their espresso.  At this point, if I'm going in, it's for an Americano–hot or iced.

    The staff is super friendly.

I have yet to sample their pastries, but they offer a nice variety and the presentation is certainly pretty and appealing.

  6. I'm not typically a frequenter of coffee houses, but Blend is definitely one of those nice mom and pop places that serves up great coffee and espressos.

Fair pricing, strong espressos after lunch, a good cup of coffee in the morning, and the owner is great! Clean and organized inside and is a great spot for studying or chatting.

Just keep in mind that the place closes at 12:00 on Monday, so be aware if you have an espresso fix on Mondays.

  7. very nice coffee place with a huge selection of desserts and a cool vibe and ambience, owned and operated by friendly people. seems like a great choice for date night, studying (they have good wifi ), chatting with friends, etc. the flan is great ! open 6:30 am to
    9 pm
most days, i think on weekends they open at 7. easy to find street parking nearby, unlike in neigboring montclair.
