“Their food menu is a bit small but I think it's perfect for happy hour (nothing too heavy, all things are pretty good for snacking).”
“I also like the specialty drinks like the Bulldog or Flower, which again, are all cheap and delicious.”
“Fantastic menu with great vegan/vegetarian options which sets it apart from most Mexican food joints.”

I was not impressed when I had lunch at this location yesterday. The service was subpar and so was the food. I got the BBQ chicken burrito lunch special. It was okay but nothing spectacular. My friends ordered quesadillas and they were not impressed at all.
The price of the lunch special is decent. The best part is you get a mini margarita with it. I would say that was the best part of the whole experience. The margarita was delicious! I would definitely go back for drinks, just not the food.
I have been to other Blockheads location and had better experiences. I do not know if it was just an off day or if this location is always like this, but I do not think I will be going back to try it again.
Great authentic Mexican spot! The food and drinks were out of this world. Fantastic menu with great vegan/vegetarian options which sets it apart from most Mexican food joints. The guacamole is some of the BEST guacamole I've ever had. I need the recipe…it looks like they have a lot of secret ingredients in there that make it amazing. The drinks were strong and the service was great. I also recommend trying the butternut squash taco…what a unique recipe! Tastes like a spicy Thanksgiving dinner(without the Turkey). It was a delicious taco and I can't wait to come back and try the other ones on the menu.
Only reason I couldn't give this place 5 stars is because there is one bathroom and it's extremely small and dumpy. You have to walk through the kitchen to get to it..I recommend going to the bathroom beforehand.
Also, the fish taco was very mediocre. I think this place is better if you're a vegetarian or vegan because the vegetarian tacos were delicious but the fish taco was lacking. Overall, very good place. Enjoyed my time here and will definitely be coming back!
With some upbeat music blasting, the restaurant's outdoor space was a fun place in Midtown to unwind with friends or colleagues after a hard day at work. The restaurant has a good selection of summer drinks to choose from and showers you with free chips with salsa sauce before you order main entree.
The food is A-okay- not impressed.
I hated its bathroom, which was dingy, tiny, and dirty. The worse part was the bathroom was adjacent to the restaurant's kitchen that looks exactly like the inside of a food trunk, what made me deeply concerned with the food hygiene after a A-okay dinner with some friends.
I don't think I would revisit the place anytime soon.
Only ordered to go so take it with a grain.
The vibe is cool. Intimate spacing and appears to have good drinks. I digged the atmosphere while waiting and the staff was friendly.
I ordered steak taco, beef picadillo taco with rice and beans. Wasnt a fan. The steak chimichurri…tasted like there was zero chimichurri on it??
Everything was just meh that I ordered, but would go back for the vibe.
This place….
What a great place to visit to stop in and enjoy some Mexican food. We stopped in around Lunch time, the atmosphere was nice-a little hole in the wall with awesome food specials. The lunch special I decided to dive into was one with a chicken quesadilla, the quesadilla was alright, it had dark and white meat which was OK but I prefer white meat. The chips and Salsa were really good, tasted very fresh. This special also included a margarita which was for the win. All for around $10.
Fast mexican food, cheap food but does taste surpringly decent, better with a couple of drinks. Can't say the venue looks particularly clean however….
Get ready to use your outside voices
For one if you want a quiet dinner then you had better get your food to go.
I will be completely honest; I go to blockheads for the frozen drinks not the food. The food is kind of faux tex mex, but the margaritas (and other fun drinks) is where the action is. The food is well price …for what you get (most plates are around 12 bucks). The restaurant is VERY loud during dinner hours so do not expect to having any true meaningful conversations. If you come on a weekend night, it is best to have as small of a party as possible because this place gets PACKED fast.
I was so stoked to discover Blockheads has a completely VEGAN menu!! I've tried the toasted tofu burrito and the butternut squash burrito. The squash was a bit sweet for my taste but still really good. I love going here when I want to sit down for a quick lunch that I know will not disappoint. Their guac and chips are super yummy and I like to opt for the gluten free burrito wrap – it toasts up really nicely. I am very thankful for restaurants that cater to the veg crowd, thank you Blockheads!
