You need to start off trying their flat white. It is the best I've ever had, and blows away others in comparison. A coworker introduced me and now I am hooked. I have searched for another flat white of this quality, and I cannot find one.
Their long black is great as well, and I would definitely recommend it.
Make sure to try some of their pastries/bars/snacks etc. They are delicious as well!!
I was on a mission to find this small, storefront style coffee shop. My husband was not as devoted and complained the whole time. In his defense, it was very hard to find and if I were not perpetually in search of the perfect cup of coffee, I too would have given up.
The walk-up store is adorable- kitschy signs, chalkboards, and other garage sale finds clutter the walls. The staff (who all seemed to be Australian) were very helpful.
Good: lots of gluten-free snacks. The cinnamon sugar cake-style donut was a hearty snack. The American drip coffee was a little sweet-tasting for my liking. However, the flat while with almond milk was decadent, smooth, creamy, and comforting on a windy autumn day.
Now that I know the location, down the western-most escalator in the atrium, I'll be sure to stop in when I'm in the area.
Our hotel had a Starbucks on the premises, but we wanted better coffee than Starbucks. We found Bluestone Lane on Yelp, and it was only a block and a half from The Lexington. Thanks Yelp for saving our morning!
Bluestone Lane is located inside The Atrium. If you enter from 3rd Ave or 50th St, go down the escalators or stairs and it'll be across from the escalators.
I ordered an Iced Matcha Latte with Almond Milk and my sister ordered a regular Iced Latte with Almond Milk too. I loved my Matcha latte. Definitely high quality matcha was used. My sister loved her latte too. She said she detected no notes of bitterness.
The pastries we had with our coffee were really good too! The Almond Croissant had lots of almonds on top. So flaky and delicious! My sister also enjoyed her chocolate croissant.
This coffee shop is tiny–essentially a hole in the wall–but you can take your coffee and pastry, or avocado toast or oatmeal around the corner and you'll find tables in the atrium or the fountain.
I'd love to sit down and eat at one of their cafes in the city! Next time!
A hole in the wall and situated inside The Atrium, so don't go crazy trying to look for it outside!
I got an iced chai latte with almond milk, which came out to a little under $5. I should've asked for it to be unsweetened because it was definitely too sweet for me, BUT I still enjoyed it and found it to be very refreshing! This would be part of my weekly coffee shop rotation if I didn't work 12 blocks away.
Went with an Aussie friend to fully embrace the Australian heritage – one gotta try a Flat white and the famous vegemite!!
Medium flat white with almond milk: WOOOOAHHHHHH best coffee I've ever had. Smooth, creamy, strong enough, the list goes on.
Avo smash with vegemite: very good but nothing spectacular. Vegemite is SALTY AF haha but it added a nice touch to the very lemony avocado spread.
Downsides:
– There is nowhere to sit and you have to take your food to go to find another place to eat.
– Very pricey, paid $15 for two items, which felt more like a snack than a meal at the restaurant.
The three stars are for the cool logo…. Unfortunately everything else was very disappointing!
It's located downstairs in an office building… Walk in to the lobby and take the escalator on your immediate left downstairs and it'll be on your left.
We came at 8am on a Wednesday, one guy was working and he was in no particular rush.
A small black coffee was $3.50!!! And they charge extra for almond milk… Which is nonsensical! It lasts longer and is cheaper.. Why do I have to pay extra?
Additionally the coffee was in no way better than Starbucks, which is bar minimum.
Not sure the appeal… I'd get some quality baristas, brew something more interesting, and calibrate on the pricing.
Located inside a commercial building. I've been to their downtown location and I'm glad that they opened this coffee shop which is closer to my workplace.
I've been looking for places that makes hot chocolate without dairy. Here, I can get a hot chocolate made with almond milk. The hot chocolate is creamy and slightly sweet. There's a choice of 3 sizes: small, medium, large. I seem to have an inability to put the plastic lid over the paper cup, it wouldn't fit into it. So I have to drink the hot chocolate before I go out, otherwise I would spill it everywhere if I go around with a cup uncovered.
They also have gluten baked goods such as biscotti, brownie, loaf cake, avocado toast. However, there are no seatings, it's only for take out.
Hot chocolate – Is made with house made chocolate sauce, mixed with textured milk and topped with cocoa dusting (almond milk)
Size: small, medium, large
Taste: sweet
Temperature: warm, very drinkable
Texture: creamy
I came to Bluestone a couple times for coffee because there was a huge line at Starbucks. The location is kinda hidden but thanks to Yelp I found it. When i came in i noticed that the size small but the line was moving quickly. It is a simple coffee shop that does the job. The only negative about the place is the price. I think they are a little overpriced, even for mid-town.
I would rate Bluestone as follows: Quality is 3.5 Stars, Line wait is 4 Stars and Price is 3 Stars.
