  1. This place just opened a few weeks ago. The physical location of Bodega Pizza has an awful reputation. I've always avoided it back when it was known APT 78. It was known for getting shut down all the time and the crowd seemed rowdy and not really my cup of tea. However, I'm not sure if the spot has a new owner but has gotten a complete transformation with a cool theme.

When I saw the construction going on it immediately reminded me of Arlene's Grocery on the Lower East Side. Like I said, I was still very doubtful that it was going to be any different from APT78. I finally gave it a chance last night on a Sunday. We walked in and were seated immediately. The inside resembles a beer garden with the communal tables. The music was chill, low volume and the soccer game was on. Nice! The crowd had a nice mix of people as well.

They only have craft beers and sangria right now. I'm not sure if that will change but it's perfectly fine with me. I was extremely impressed by the delicious pizzas! We ordered the "Paid N Full" pie which was OMG delicious. It had prosciutto, parmesan, baby arugula and fresh mozzarella. Quality pie! I can't wait to return for more. Our only issue was that they are CASH ONLY right now and there were no signs anywhere to warn customers. That was a little annoying. The sangria was a bit pricy at $12 but Bronx Summer Ale was only $5.

Hopefully they can maintain the improvement and not go back to the old ways. I'm sure they can pick up a new clientele if it continues. I think right now people assume it's just like before. I'll definitely return for delicious pizza and beer if the improvement is permanent. They have other great bars nearby like Buddha Bar which gets a lot of traffic. Let's see if Bodega Pizza can keep up.
    So far so good….

  2. I ate the "PAID N FULL" : it was great.. a tiny tiny tiny bit on the salty side because of the cheeses.  Taste before adding your side-seasonings.  *Idea* maybe the chef/cook should add slight oil drizzle on top of the arugula, to bring out even more flavor.

I absolutely LOVE that cool lil neighborhood owned/outsider owned spots are poppin up .. I hope that they keep adding to the menu or swap others out for new items. I'd love a pesto pizza, shrimp toppings, crab toppings, lobster toppings.

THE KOLA WAS BOMB.COM (kola champagne) – came in cool mason jars.

The interior is very nice.. Wooden tables = nice touch .. the chairs are uncomfy yet cool .. Colors inside truly remind me of my Hispanic friends' homes, their moms have the most vibrant colors! LOVE IT.

THE BATHROOM IS SUPER COOL — SHARPIE YOUR @/NAME INTO THE WALL/TOILET/SINK.

Its SOOO CHILL here that you may be forgotten by your waiter here and there.

WILL RETURN FOR BRUNCH ON WEEKDAY (weekends can be a bit hectic with huge groups/parties.)
