  1. This spot is delicious! I like everything about the place-the fun vibe, awesome fruit mojitos, friendly staff and obviously tasty food!

To begin they put plantains on your table with a spicy green salsa.  Then we ordered the appetizer sampler.  The missing one star is here.  The corn chips were stale.  It also came with delicious, fresher plantains.  The bean dip is one of my favorite items.  The guacamole was okay, but not something I'd order again.  It tasted like it had been previously prepared. The pico de gallo was filled with fresh tomatoes but a bit bland.  I don't think the sampler is worth the price.  I would stick with the plantains and bean dip.

The paella is a bit pricey.  I was concerned about the size for the cost.  Well worth every cent.  It was filled with lots of protein.  The shrimp were large.  The chorizo had just the right amount of spice. The rice was cooked to perfection and engulfed in just the perfect amount of liquid.  I absolutely suggest the splurge.  I even had leftovers because it was chock full of good stuff!

Mojitos-get a coconut one during happy hour.  One won't be enough so get there in well enough time before 7.  You're welcome.

  2. My family and I visited Bogota for dinner after my husband's graduation a few weeks ago, and we were so glad to have made that choice. We had such a wonderful experience. Our waitress, Alisa, was super helpful and attentive. The decor was warm, welcoming and exuded Colombian pride.

But the food was the real treat. For an appetizer I had the chicken stuffed plantain, which was very good. For my meal I ordered the plantain crusted chicken with sauteed spinach and coconut rice and while the chicken could've used a lot more sauce, it was quickly saved by their delicious bottled vinegar sauce. I've searched high and low for it since my visit and I've yet to find anything that comes close. I'm definitely going to have to make the trip back to Brooklyn just for that sauce. The coconut rice was also absolutely delicious.

We were also lucky to have made it there in time for happy hour so we tried a few of their drinks, which were perfectly made. I really enjoyed the passionfruit caipirinha and my husband had a coconut rum drink that was particularly tasty. Overall, our experience at Bogota was very enjoyable and the next time I find myself in that part of Brooklyn I'll definitely be dropping by.

  3. Came here for the second-time with coworkers in the summer. They had the AC blasting in the front but it was lacking a bit in the back – or it could have just been the heat from the delicious food!

I got the fish taco brunch special and the passion fruit mojito. Both were superb! The passion fruit mojito was sweet without being sickeningly so, and the fish tacos were perfectly fried with a great dipping sauce. The maduros were on point as well! Second-time here and still love it!

P.S. They're LGBT friendly and make it a point to display that with rainbow flags, amongst the other Colombian interior pieces.

  4. So you're in the mood for great Latin food?
If so, it might be worth your time to check this place out.

Heard a lot about the brunch they serve here, so we made a point of stopping by when we were in the area.  I had the brunch plate and it was definitely substantial.  There was no shortage of food and I was definitely pleased with some of the offerings .. most notably the pork belly and the red beans with bacon.  Everything else, such as the white areapas, plantains etc were all delish.  The side of avocado was a nice touch.

The place is very lively and was bustling even on Sunday morning.  The service here was very friendly and though things got busy there was always a smile on everyone's face when you needed anything.

The ambiance here is also very welcoming and I think this is a great place to dine at during all parts of the day.  I'd definitely come back again in the future.

  5. I've been to Bogota several times throughout the time I've lived in Park Slope – it's always consistently tasty and there's a fun, energetic vibe. I usually get the fish tacos – they come with a chipotle sauce that is a super yummy mix of smoky, spicy and creamy. There's a lot of seating room in the back – including an outdoor eating area in a garden. It's a fun, different place to bring friends who are visiting or to it up with people in the neighborhood – it's really casual but the service is nice and the food is always great.

  6. Looking for parking around this area on a Thursday afternoon is not easy.
We made it to our reservations.

The Arroz Con Pollo (Chicken & Rice) looked delicious. It was "shredded chicken mixed w/yellow rice, carrots, red peppers, cilantro & scallions, served w/side black beans, avocado, maduros & Colombian aji sauce". I definitely tasted better than my order of Salmon Tropical with two sides – spinach and Maduros (sweet plantains). I guessed mine was plain compared to the party fiesta of a dish-Arroz Con Pollo.

This is a cozy little Latin restaurant in Park Slope.
If you try to flag down a waiter, they will come to you, but it's nice that they leave you alone to your privacy.

  7. Bogota, bogota. We've come such a long way. From my first skewed impression of you years ago on a horrible date, to scouting the menu and unsuccessfully finding sufficient vegetarian options, to now–my go to place for glorious vegetable tacos, cilantro mashed potatoes, and yellow rice and black beans. Anddd luscious red sangria, passion fruit caipirinhas, and mango margaritas. We basically go together now. Besos.

  8. 3 stars for the drinks, 4 stars for the food!

Came in one afternoon for happy hour and had some lime margaritas – they were strong but entirely too sweet. The amount of sugar in the drink kinda ruined the drink for me, unfortunately. Should've had the salt on the rim to balance that out, but usually they aren't loaded with that much sugar.

Food was delicious – had a veggie (bean and cheese) empanada with sour cream on the side, and it was so fabulous. A little different kind of dough than I'm used to (tasted like it was corn based), but I loved it. Shared a bit of the Latin breakfast which I would totally come in for again. Arepa with cheese, tasty black beans, fresh salad, yellow rice, plantains, and two fried eggs – so perfect! Highly
Recommended for the food and happy hour prices, but be careful with those margaritas!
