You guys are truly one of my favourite chain restaurants. Always with the best waiter service and delicious meals/drinks! So glad you have a location in New York. The salmon and crab cakes were delicious and your Hawaiian martini was perfect (hint of coconut and lemon)
Went for the soft shell crab special and it was worth the trip! Fried crab stuffed with crabcake. I had my rder with a side of green beans and sweet potato mash. My mom got the Chilean sea bass which was also very good. The fish had perfect grill marks and the herb pesto on the side.made it divine! Daughter had the fish tacos and they were delicious as always. I love that give you different portions sizes (small or large) . We were stuffed and did not have room for dessert.
My husband and I came for dinner on a weeknight and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was really good and the service was excellent. We each ordered fish and we were happy with our choices. The restaurant was busy and yet I made it back to work within an hour so it was cool. We will be back!
For appetizer, I tried the raw oysters and the potstickers. The oysters tasted good, but the shells were unusually soft. I accidentally broke one while sucking an oyster out.
For the main course, I had the bang bang shrimp tacos. The bang bang shrimp seemed to be one of their marquee items; unfortunately, I didn't find the flavor profile as impressive as it was presented.
I also tried the Chilean sea bass. Sea bass is usually the type of fish which melts in my mouth; this was not the case. The grill marks left a burnt flavor. I was hoping for more of a seasoned char. The mac n cheese side was good. It had a fair balance of creamy and crispiness. The truffle oil was all at the bottom of the bowl which made it a little overwhelming to eat.
The service was good. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We were seated immediately upon entry despite it being a Friday evening. I was unimpressed with the draft beers.
This place is decent. Bar is very good, both for drink selection as well as glassware. Bartenders are attentive and make good drinks. Place can be a madhouse so I would definitely recommend a reservation. Service was a bit pushy, seemed like they were trying to turn over our table in an hr when were set on having a 3 course meal. The menu is good but not great, she had the salmon and I had the pecan pistachio crusted trout. Bread was hot, olive oil was drowning in pesto a bit too much for my liking. Bang bang shrimp were good, but also drowning in what seemed like a pretty unhealthy sauce, so we both limited ourselves to only a few pieces. Spinach was bland, but I guess healthy food has to be. Mashed potatoes decent, and my trout was good, but also swimming in sauce a bit. Wine list is good enough for a chain restaurant and very reasonably priced; we shared a decent bottle of white for about $40. Key lime pie was just ok, would not really recommend honestly. We went because it was Good Friday and we wanted to use a gift card we had. We'll probably be back, but not for a while, and only if we're in the mood for fish and don't want to go too far. Clientele is also a bit iffy too, not exactly a trendy/sceney place.
My family and I are regulars here and we love going here. The drinks are reasonable and very good. The food is always delicious. Sometimes the service has been slower in the past, but lately they have stepped up their game! I love the bang bang shrimp and so does basically everyone else who goes! We love going for their price fix menu, which is arguably the best for miles around (Tuesdays!) The ambiance is cool and comfortable. Plenty of seating for as many as you can wish. You really can't go wrong with the price and value!
At the bar on a Thursday night. The deejay was playing R n B music. Nice crowd. enjoyed the music. Will definitely be back on a Thursday for the music . Placemat was not so clean… traded it in…The house salad with salmon was very good. Not enough salad but the vinegarette was seasoned well and not heavy. The salmon has a nice smoky flavor but wasn't as flaky as it could have been. The bang bang shrimp are really fattening and good. Nice spicy bite and the sauce has some good flavors. The bathroom was immaculate. The bar doesn't have a big
Bonefish Grill is exactly how you'd like to spend dinner with your SO for an intimate time gazing into each others' eyes and taking in the lovely ambiance while sipping martinis with rose petals floating in them.
The few times I've been to Bonefish Grill (all 3 at this location) it was always a standard dinner. Nothing that raised the bar in my experience, but meets decent standards.
As I stated, the ambiance is sleek, intimate, modern, and adopts the butcher paper-style table tops that a lot of restaurants are doing nowadays. They have a huge, open dining room with the front end of the restaurant dedicated to the bar and high top tables.
I don't recall ever waiting for a table so reservations aren't necessary unless going at peak hours on Friday and Saturday nights, I'm sure.
Their wine list is pretty impressive and varied so that's definitely a plus. The food is kept to one page and broken up by section. Every time I've ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp and it's always delicious. Definitely recommend.
The servers are walking around in what seems like chef coats and it confuses me every time, but despite that, they always seem happy and willing to assist.
The food is good too (duh. That's what you came for). On my last visit I ordered the Tilapia Imperial. It's basically tilapia stuffed with butter, cheese, and lobster. I couldn't find the lobster, so that was disappointing but it was a good dish either way.
So, to come full circle, if you're in the area looking for a quiet (in comparison) and intimate restaurant for dinner, definitely come to Bonefish Grill. You won't be disappointed but you won't be blown away either. Everything from food to service meets expectations. Not exceeds them.
