  1. This is a restaurant that I hope makes it, but isn't quite there yet.

My daughter ran out for a bottle of wine  — no corkage fee! — while I perused the menu.  Decided we'd start off with an order of ursuleti, which are fried polenta balls stuffed with feta and bits of pork belly.  Sour cream on the side for dipping.  Very good!  Our server also put out a basket of bread …. but no butter.

"What's the most popular chicken dish?" I asked.  Kabobs, he replied.  So that's what I went with.  (Chef may want to marinate the chicken, and put some kind of spin on the kabobs, which I found merely 'okay.')

My daughter decided upon chicken schnitzel.  The order came with two nice-sized breasts, enough to bring home for lunch the next day.

There is a choice of sides — but they were very limited that evening.  The restaurant specializes in homemade noodles, but they had none, so we decided upon fried potatoes with onions and mushrooms. The server brought us mashed potatoes, instead.  "No fried potatoes?" we asked.  Not tonight.

There are plenty of items on the menu — but I'm thinking management may want to pare down the choices and ensure the availability of what they list.

Ambience is old-world European.  Very pleasant.  And with a back room for functions, this could be a fun place to have a party.  I'll give them another try when I'm back in town.
