Can't say enough good things about Boulevard.
Came here for a Sunday brunch with the girls and while I was waiting I had a very entertaining conversation with Charlie–the wonderful bartender who knows all things politics but also how to make the best mimosas/bellinis.
The decor is pretty fancy but not pretentious. It's a classy atmosphere for sure. It also has some seating outside for the summer or during the crisp fall days. Oh, and complimentary valet parking!
They have a wonderful brunch package–$26 for unlimited mimosas/bellinis, 4 appetizers of your choice (for the group) and an entree per person. The girls and I decided for fruits, crepes, beignets and the mediterranean platter. We were actually full before the main entrees came out. The dishes are flavorful, some exotic even. They're great portions. We left extremely satisfied, seriously couldn't beat the deal.
I was a bit thrown off by one of the waitresses who said they were booked even though the place looked a bit empty at the time. I let it go once Charlie was able to accommodate us in a high table close to the bar. He took very good care of us. To avoid any misunderstandings, make sure you place a reservation a day or two, or a couple of hours before.
Overall, very pleased with this restaurant. Jersey needs more brunch spots like this one. Will be back for sure.
Took my boo thing here for a brunch date on his birthday yesterday, and I'm glad I did.
I made a reservation using Open Table for 12 pm, and we were seated right away a few minutes early.
We did the pre-fix brunch: 4 things to share (appetizers), 1 entrée per person, and unlimited drinks (coffee, tea, mimosas, and bloody marys). Our bill came out to $51 and change.
We're not big drinkers, so I had one delicious mimosa then we both drank tea for the remainder of our meals.
We ordered the fresh fruit plate, mezza plate, ricotto stuffed crepes, and brioche French toast to start. The portions were small and barely enough to share, but everything tasted great. The baba gahnoush on the mezza plate and the French toast in particular stood out to us the most. Next time, we're definitely getting two orders of the French toast!
Manny ordered the steak and eggs. He thought the steak was great quality and it was a perfect medium rare, but he mentioned that the char on the steak and the sauce didn't mix well together. He wished it was either charred without sauce, or cooked in the sauce without the charred outside. But overall, he enjoyed it.
My duck confit, on the other hand, PERFECT. I'd eat it every day if I could.
I'll definitely be back!
Fancy restaurant with delicious seafood and steaks!
Never had a bad dish here. Seafood is always fresh. My favorite is their grilled seafood salad with seared tuna, octopus, shrimp and calamari in a special dressing with capers. Their dry aged steaks are also great and could be compared to some of the well known steakhouses. Boulevard Five 72 is great for parties, group gatherings, lunches and special dinners.
Sunday Brunch: Their brunch for $39 per person is the best value I have seen. You can unlimited drinks, entrees from their menu. Can not beat this for $39.
Staff and especially the bartenders are very friendly! Has an extensive selection of wines and other premium liquors.
They also have a valet parking, so on busy nights it is very convenient.
Went here for brunch on the recommendation of of a family member, and was really disappointed. We had a reservation, but had to wait for our table, and then I just didn't feel we received any attention. Nothing annoys me more than having to ask several times for a simple refill. The food was ok, but some had some weird spices in it that I was not expecting.
And return I did! Have been back for dinner, hosted our rehearsal dinner here, and most recently had a group brunch. Each was equally impressive and keeps us coming back! The staff is great and will accommodate your needs, food is seller, and service is spot on; all without breaking the bank.
Special shout out to brunch, better than most NYC brunches charging you 5x more. The duck leg confit hash, smoked salmon benedict, french toast and ricotta crepes were my favorites!
I took Boo Boo here for Valentines dinner. I worked nearby and never dined here before. The service was above average and the food overall was good. There was a few hits and misses.
Misses:
The free soup/bisque starter was in a shot glass type thing. It was suppose to be a palate warmer upper thing. It was too water downed and needed salt.
The fork they gave Boo Boo was ghetto crooked/bent. I see these type of forks from my work caferteria.
The coffee at the end of dinner was pretty much folgers.
Hits:
The aged ribeye and the short rib pasta.we home runs. The steak was medium rare just the way I like it.
We were able to order the red velvet cheesecake from the pre-fix menu. That was not too sweet.
The free red velvet maccaroon and bon bon mouse thingy was very good as well.
We were mainly stuffed with the richness of almost every item we order that we had to take our entrees to-go.
This is a very nice place for such occasions.
I probably wouldn't come back for dinner on a weekend or holiday. I noticed the a lot of the other diners we very 'Jersey Shore'. The table next to us were very loud with with their conversation and low cut blouse.
I just really want to echo what everyone is saying below and commend this restaurant for being absolutely awesome. With just rock solid food and a fairly enjoyable atmosphere, this is one of the better restaurants I have tried in this area of NJ.
Both the Grilled Organic Salmon and Organic Half-Chicken were extremely tasty and smartly prepared. The chef's use of organic ingredients pays off in taste and demonstrates his or her respect for the diners' health. Also, make sure to try to Parmesan Risotto side. It is yum.
Also, our waiter was awesome. This might not be the best restaurant in the entire state, but it's a great place to go for a special event and doesn't disappoint. Well, except I have to say the dessert menu was a little tired and could definitely use an update but the food menu is exceptional. My girlfriend and I will be back.
Four of us went here for Sunday brunch. I had booked far in advance, and there was no wait or line when we got there around 12:30. There was plenty of space for more people, too. A few parties were going on, it looked like a bridal shower and a birthday party, and they thankfully weren't too loud.
We were seated in a corner booth, which allowed us all to sit in a line and peoplewatch. The waiter was fairly new, he was a little unsure and didn't get a few of the "extra" request we made (such as asking for an Arnold Palmer, which never arrived, or asking for more coffee, which took a while to arrive). I can't even blame it on the restaurant being busy.
We got the Prix Fixe meal which gives everyone in the party a chance to sample 4 appetizers (portioned by party size) plus everyone gets their own entree and unlimited brunchy drinks (mimosa, bellini, coffee, tea, or bloody mary). It wound up being a great price for all the food we put in our bodies. Seriously, by the time my poached eggs Florentine came, I was unable to finish. And they were so good. So I was so sad when my friend finished my plate for me.
It's a good stop for a fancy meal. It has a strange layout, but maybe I'm just so used to open floor plans in restaurants. That may also be what helped keep the noise down, so I'm not complaining – just commenting.
