  1. Have started stopping by here again recently, and the quality of the bread, the selection and the prices are all great.

Place is clean, and i've been picking up some small rolls, etc to snack on during the day, or for my cheat dessert (think walnut cranberry roll).  Place is clean and everything is fresh!

  2. I'm only basing this on the one brownie that I bought here, but it was delicious.  Very rich and moist, the way a good brownie should be.

  3. The bread at Breadsmith is delicious! Moist, fresh, and they have a great variety.

My only gripes are that it is totally overpriced (cost of ingredients is low people, we're talking about flour, yeast, and water) and that the selection gets picked over really quickly. It appears as though they keep a whole stash in the back and don't refresh the front counter fast enough. Wish they would, it's annoying to ask if they have something that you can clearly see in the back. Why isn't it up front?

  4. I have gotten bread here on numerous occasions and have always been happy with it. The store smells so amazing, it's worth the visit for that reason alone!
We have tried their dinner loaves, dessert breads, and have used their bread the last couple of years for my Thanksgiving stuffing.  The prices are decent, slightly more expensive than a large store, but not unreasonable. I agree with other Yelpers that the do run out of things very quickly. I know during the holidays it's hard to hold onto the hot ticket items, but they run out of things so early, I have to believe they don't make nearly enough inventory.
The customer service is not that great. I've never received a warm greeting or been offered help without me asking. The girls behind the counter often hold a full conversation with each other even while you're paying. If the bread wasn't so good and conveniently located to my apartment, I wouldn't return based on the customer service.

  5. Who doesn't love bread?  Well maybe carb-phobics.  But I imagine their lives are filled with little pleasure anyway.

Breadsmith offers a variety of different breads, not to mention the additional baked goods they carry.  My husband is a big fan of their Cinnamon Claw while I'm happy with just one of their regular baguettes.  It's one of the few places where the baguette is actually crusty and not mushy.  I hate mushy baguettes.  French people would look at that and cry.

Yes the prices are a bit more expensive here than at your normal grocery store (I think the price of their baguette is a dollar or two more than what you'd pay at Wegmans).  But like many things in life, if you want quality you have to pay for it.  I know whenever we have people over Breadsmith's bread is specifically requested so that should tell you all you need to know.

  6. My first visit here was a bit of a disappointment, but that could simply reflect I picked 2 of their lesser breads.  The people are very nice and the selection of breads, etc is very impressive.  Prices are higher than even a high-end supermarket, but that is to be expected for a bread boutique.  It is popular–especially on Sunday–so obviously many have had very positive experiences.

I would not rule out a return visit, but I would choose different varieties and hope I just picked 2 which were ok, but not worth the price and special trip.

  7. The bread is so fresh I was very impressed. It's way fresher than any of the other bakery or delis in Cranford. I also tried the almond chocolate cookies which were very good but did not stay soft by the next day. I definitely look forward to going back!

  8. nice store, cool layour, nice displays.

The selection is pretty unique, you don't get much of these choices at the supermarket or most other bakeries.

I wasn't hungry and was on my way to a wedding, but I bought a greek olive roll; light a moist, with big awesome olives inside, really great.

I will be back here to try more things
