  1. This bakery has opened for a few years already. While I don't come to this bakery very much, it's quite spacious compared to other bakeries along 86th street and Bay Parkway. The staff here are very friendly, nice, and helpful.

I recently came here for a large coffee and they made it just right and tasted really good. I may just come back here again for a coffee.

I tried their cakes before and it's okay, but not excellent.

  2. Ive been coming here since theyve opened and I have to say most everything is delicious.  Ive also had the chance to purchase 2 cakes here, a large one to feed over 50 people and a smaller one for just 8 people and they were both beautifully decorated, fresh and delicious!  My favorite bun is definitely the taro.  They also make seasonal foods like turnip dumpling soup, congee (ingrediants based on season currently its dried vegetable) They also have a great cup of coffee, not ash tray wash like many other chinese bakeries. for dim sum try the sparerib over rice noodle, and the veg. dumplings are tasty too.  im surprised there are less than a handful of reviews on this place as its really good and one of the better bakeries on 86th st.

they now offer noodle soups and lunch special rice dishes.  I have yet to try, but Ive seen the empty bowls piled up by the tray return counter and ive seen many people scarfing it down.  It definitely looks good when i see people stuffing their face and not looking up.

  3. Came here twice when I moved to the neighborhood. I think bread zone is one of the cleaner bakery shops that has seats available. Their bakeries are pretty huge. I came here and got both different kind of red bean paste buns.. They are both warm and delicious as if they just made it fresh.. I think I prefer this bakery compare to most of the bakeries I had in Manhattan.

Cheap + clean.. and there is always seats..

  4. I come here about once every month or so for their Hong Kong style milk tea, which is pretty yummy.  However, their dim sum and other food selection is typically not that good.  I have consistently been disappointed by almost everything that I've eaten there…had dumplings where the skin was super dried out, noodles that have been very unflavorful with little meat, and fried buns that had almost no meat inside…the one thing that I do like there, which I haven't seen very often, is the steamed turnip cake.
I have not tried the steamed buns or baked goods, so it is possible they are yummier.
Service, I do think is a little bit better than at other Chinese bakeries, meaning that they are pleasant and tend to not ignore you when you are waiting on line.  🙂

  5. taishanese soft cakes !! Enough said 🙂

This place is pretty much your go to chinese bakery with reasonable prices. For once, the names of their food are accurate and there aren't any spelling errors. As for the atmosphere and interior, it's definitely better than the hole – in – a – wall across the street. It feels more welcoming to customers of all ages whereas the one across the street seems to only cater to old folks…

Aside from baked buns and pastries they also serve dim sum and hot savory foods, so you can get your rice rolls and wontons along with your pineapple buns and sponge cake.

  6. I go to bread zone all the time and yet it's kinda funny how I've never reviewed this place until now. Breadzone has a variety of foods to chose from ranging from baked buns to noodle and rice dishes to chicken or beef combo lunch boxes. They have it all for an extremely affordable price. $7 can get you a really good lunch here. You should drop by this place if you're feeling hungry. The decor is fancier than most Asian bakeries and on certain days, it's a place filled with local Asian grandmas and grandpas. This place is cheap and filling, just the way I like it. They also make a great cold milk tea since it's summer and all.

  7. decent sticky rice,  If I wake up and put the vaporizer down early enough, i will update my review on their take out dim sum.   stupidly I went in the afternoon and missed it.  traffic block.not worth the trip unless its GOOO

  8. BreadZone feels different to me than other Chinese bakeries — they're more clean & modern-looking with their interior.  Prices are still about the same (which I LOVE) & everything they offer is usually offered at other Chinese bakeries as well.  They just do it much better though.  Ordered myself an iced HK-style tea & it was so perfectly savory, really hit the spot.

On top of the goodies they sell, the ladies & staff members are so NICE & helpful.  It's definitely a sweet upgrade from the typical Chinese bakery.  Will see you again soon, BreadZone :).
