  1. came here to study with a friend. this place is great.  big salads, fresh ingredients, super nice staff.  i love it and cant wait to come back.

  2. Stopped by to grab a cup of coffee while in the area. Very spacious inside with outdoor seating for the warmer months. Perfect space for studying, lunch date or business meeting.

  3. Been here a handful of times now and have enjoyed my experiences. Both times I came on a Friday night. The first time, I ordered a coffee and took a seat inside. Although the sign says they are open until 10PM, the man (owner?) behind the counter began to shut the lights off around 8:30. Since it was a nice night, I made my way outside and took a seat at a table in front of the shop. Just a few minutes later, the shop closed for the night. I sat outside, read my magazine, and took note that several people tried to enter and walked away with a bewildered look as the sign states they close at 10. A shame for the owner since the Main Street was bustling on a nice, cool Friday evening in the summer.

The coffee isn't bad, yet isn't anything out of this world. I find that I come here more for the location than the actual coffee. For coffee quality I will head to Hidden Grounds or The Coffee House before coming here; however, nothing can beat the outdoor atmosphere on a nice night.

  4. We were coming to the area to meet friends and thought we would stop here for breakfast.  We weren't disappointed.  We arrived at a good time as we were seated right away.

My wife ordered the # 4 omelet (zucchini, mushroom, onions & brie) with home fries.  I went healthy (just a little) with the #14 omelet (prosciutto, mozzarella, roasted peppers & black olives) the healthy part comes with substituting egg whites and having fresh fruit as the side.

It seems to be a popular place on Main Street for locals on a lazy Sunday morning, people come after soccer practice and sit outside on a beautiful morning. Prices are very reasonable, the service was excellent and we left with a good morning jolt and full bellies.  When I paid the check I actually noticed another table had ordered the French Toast which would have made me want have a nap with the portion size if I had eaten it.  Maybe next time if we have brunch I will give it a try, the wife will just have to drive home 🙂

  5. Food: very good
    Service: excellent
Ambience: good just like the local cafe it is

I am a fan of brewed awakening not because it has the best food, or the best ambience or any thing fancy. I like it because it what a local cafe in a small town is suppose to be.
The staff here is super friendly and kind, the place usually has a few locals sitting and chatting and it offers a fairly large variety of items.
I often stop here for my morning fix of coffee since it is so near the train station. The coffee is not the best but better than what you find in any other place around here.
I have also come here for breakfast on multiple occasions and I love the number 18 omelette with turkey bacon and jalapeños. I am also fan of the turkey bacon blt.
I have never tried them but I hear that their pancakes are awesome as well.
So if you are looking for "sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came" kind of place this is it 🙂

  6. This place was so touching, I'm Metuchen me.

Hmph…for the longest time I thought that was a Boy Meets World quote ("It was so touching, I'm touching me"), but I just Googled it and can''t find it.

    Anwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay:

I'm not a coffee freak. I drink it sparingly. I'm a HUGE green tea freak though. I drink that 4 times a day…hence my amazing metabolism and ability to lose weight while simultaneously treating Cheesecake Factory like an All You Can Eat Factory.

I don't know the difference between an espresso and mud.

Or the difference between a latte and doing Pilates.

Which is why this review will mention none of those things…I think subconsciously, I didn't order an esprepuccinatte or something because I knew I couldn't review it with any kind of credibility.

Has Yelp taken over my life!? My decision making!?

I'm just kidding. I didn't order any of those things because there was a "Mocha Chiller" and that sounded bad ass.

I also like 'mocha'. Whatever that is. Scientifically.

The first time I had a 'chiller' was at 7-Eleven a few weeks prior.

    BLEEEEEEEEEEEwtfEEEHHHHHHHHHHHH.

This one was great though. Except it was super solid and I had to keep shaking it to melt it down after a few sips.

I washed down the chiller with a brownie.

    My goodness.

For $2.50, I ain't even mad. There had to have been marshmallow fudge chunks in there or something. A first for me. Every bite felt like I was getting married to the girl of my dreams.

That's really the only way I can describe it.

They have tons of real food too (I might have to divorce that brownie and give them a shot). And wifi…the hassle free kind.

My phone was so excited it needed a change of phone casing.

Cool atmosphere, nice decor. Great place to chill…my friend and I were here for 3 hours…that kind of chill.

I will be back. That's what I thought while I was here. And that get's you a 4.
