Great family run place.
The wedding reception was held here for about 50 people. They let us take over the top floor and they also had an open bar for us upstairs as well.
The preset menu was great and everyone had a choice of vegetarian pastas or salmon. I had the salmon and it was AMAZING. The fish was flaky and just melted in my mouth. The cream sauce with capers were the perfect marination. The red wine was great and my glass was constantly kept full. The dessert was wonderful as well, but I was so full from the entree that I didn't have room. They also served tea, coffee, and espresso after dinner.
Great service and everyone was very pleased with both meal and service. Will definitely come back here next time I'm in New York.
I had a good experience here on the night that I came. I ordered homemade whole wheat pasta with a rich, chicken stock-y ragout sauce. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try homemade whole wheat pasta, one comes across it so infrequently. It was succulent and flavorful.
One of my dining partners complained to high heaven. It wasn't an issue of the restaurant screwing up her food, but an issue of the meal falling flat of her expectations. After she complained to the waiter, his supervisor immediately checked on her. She was unmoved by the staff's apologetic ways, but I, in a fit of guilt-that-is-typical-for-me, told them multiple times how delicious my food was.
After coming here for happy hour a few times and recently stopping by for lunch, I'm definitely a fan of Bricco.
Their bar is just right for some post-work glasses of wine; a little elegant, comfy and quiet. Their happy hour wine specials are a great deal. Their lunch menu is moderately priced and has a lot of great choices (the Insalata Tiberio and Polipo alla Griglia were both fantastic).
Bricco won't blow your socks off, but it is a solid place to get some wine and great Italian food in Midtown West.
Summary: Stylish Italian food great in a wonderful atmosphere. Great Service. Happy hour specials.
Atmosphere: In an area with a sea of Italian Restaurants, Bricco is one of my favorites. It's got that nice dark evening feel with a fun bar up front. It's one of very few restaurants in NYC that is adequately large to not feel cramped. The upstairs area is perfect for group events.
Service: I always have a great time there on the many dinners. I've even gone in with limited time hoping to catch up with a friend. They accommodated my New York need for speed like complete professionals. Given this is closely located to the theater district, it makes it an excellent choice to consider.
Food: I've been here with many of my toughest critic friends and they have all agreed the place deserves positive reviews. The pizza is brick oven. A great selection if you're not ready for something larger. The pastas are all nicely done with fresh sauces and ingredients.
After another delicious and enjoyable happy hour at Bricco Tratorria on a perfect summer late afternoon , I felted compelled to write a quick review.
We've been to their happy a few times and while we can't say we're "happy hour experts", I can say the small plate offerings and drink options are spot on delicious!
Oddly I was half expecting to find no seating on this beautiful Friday at 420, but it was actually wide open. What a lovely surprise to be offered outdoor patio seating for happy hour!! Couldn't be a more perfect combo!
I ordered the blood orange vodkatini while hub enjoyed a SAM's Summer. Our server was excellent, friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the Arancine, Meatballs and Arugula flat bread off the small plate menu… All were delicious.
Thoroughly enjoyable start to the weekend! Bricco really does happy hour right!
