BrisketTown
“Combining these 2 elements under the roof of Briskettown is one of the many, many things Delaney gets right.”
“To me, the pulled pork was sadly forgettable, but the free potato bread and sweet pickles made it for it.”
“The lunch option — brisket tacos and brisket sandwiches really make up for what Fette Sau is missing.”

BrisketTown has been on my bookmarks for quite and some time. I finally had the opportunity to get some.
Location: It is right outside of the Williamsburg bridge.
The dishes are family style, but I think one person can it all. The prices for the meats go by half pounds.
We basically ordered all the popular dishes. We got the Mac & Cheese, Cornbread, 1/2 lb of Beef Brisket, and 1/2 lb of Pork Ribs.
The Mac & Cheese was quite good. Classic style of Mac & Cheese. Cheesy, creamy, and tasted good.
The Cornbread was a little disappointing. While it looked golden brown on the outside, it was dry on the inside.
The meats that they make are all marinated with traditional seasoning. No sauces are required.
I had such high expectations for the 1/2 lb of beef brisket. Unfortunately, it was the brisket was dry. Nothing juicy about it.
The 1/2 of pork ribs was very good. The meat just came of the bone very easily. It was juicy, tender, and succulent.
I like that the meats came with a side of pickles and onions. It balances out the meal.
Meats can also come with bread, if you like some.
For dessert, we shared an Apple Pie. It was delicious. Traditional apple pie. Crispy on the outside, but soft, tasty, and sweet on the inside.
Prices are very reasonable. Service was good. Some hits and some misses.
I thought this place was called Delany Barbecue, oh well. Anyways, when I came here I didn't have the best experience but the place deserves four stars because teh food is phenomenal and the staff where on point. the portions where a bit small for my liking, when I go to eat bbq it means i'm ready to have an experience that I can regret later in terms of eating too damn much. the portion size, however, might be akin to the fact that it was near closing time and that had run out of practically everything! I think we had some pulled pork, bread, macaroni and pickles and thats it! when we tried to order me he was like " we have more bread if you'd like….". That really sucked but i loved teh food that I had. the meat was tender and smoky and not smothered in way too much salt or sauce, I also liked the way that they bring it out where you can share, family style if you will. I for sure want to go back here but not too late when theres no food left.
This used to be my favorite brisket place, but I don't know what happened the last time I went. Our brisket came out like cold bricks. It was dry and nothing like what I remembered. It was so disappointing, but I'm not sure what went wrong. Maybe it was because when we ordered the server didn't ask if we wanted a fatty piece.
We also had the pork ribs, turkey, and corn bread – all on the dry side. The potato salad was good though.
We also ordered some brisket to go because we promised to get it for some friends, and those pieces we asked for it to be fatty and they were actually much tastier than what we got served at the restaurant.
I guess the brisket is hit or miss and you MUST ask for a fatty piece.
Some quality meats come out of this little Brooklyn establishment. So much so that they end up on top ten lists quite a lot.
We shared some of the sides including the cornbread (eh), Mac and cheese (that jalapeño added to the mix makes it good plus the panko bread crumbs).
The highlight is the meat. Brisket is decent. The ribs are also decent. There isn't a lot more to it than the meat itself, there weren't any rubs. They serve with onions and pickles on the side.
I'd recommend trying this place definitely. But I may prefer hill country or might q's as far as meat eating goes.
Have come back multiple times. Each time it gets worse and worse. Sad to say, but BrisketTown is slowly moving down the pecking order of top BBQ spots in NY.
Last few times the brisket just has not been very good. Too dry. Turkey is terrible too – salty and dry. Still irks me that they don't have sauce – misplaced hubris in my opinion, as their deficiencies in their brisket could be masked somewhat with a good sauce. You go to any joint in Lockhart, Luling, Lexington, and Austin – their brisket is infinitely better than BrisketTown, yet they all have sauces available.
If you're looking for the closest you can get to a Texas BBQ experience, I'd recommend going to Hometown in Red Hook. I'm not going lower than 3 stars, as BrisketTown still has it's good days every once in a while…and service has always been awesome and friendly. Anyhow, hopefully they can pick their game back up.
Service was great, food not as much..
Food: shared pork ribs, beef brisket, Mac and cheese, corn bread and Cole slaw… I preferred the brisket to the ribs; Mac and cheese had good flavor but had pockets where the cheese was very cold, almost as if it was reheated in a microwave and not stirred… Food came with bread that I think was Wonderbread.. But I guess who gets a baguette with BBQ? The corn bread was probably my favorite food item… Personal preference, but i would've liked to see a pulled pork or brisket sandwich on the menu
Service: no complaints at here; waiter was friendly and knowledge; food came out quickly and family style
Ambience: you would almost miss the place if it weren't for the teepee sign outside.. Dimly lit inside, pretty cute besides the fact that we ate off of little metal trays
Great ribs and brisket. Can't go wrong ordering those (the hot link was tasty too!). However, the standouts to me were the sides and starters.
The deviled eggs were way better than you'd expect. They had bacon crispies in there so every bite had a satisfying crunch.
The collard greens, which I normally dislike, were smokey and tangy and added a nice, moist complement to my bites of brisket that were occasionally on the slightly dry side.
The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy and comforting.
Also, another shockingly good dish, the wedge salad. It was drenched in homemade blue cheese dressing and topped with crunchy almonds. It was a nice, refreshing complement to all the meaty, heavy main dishes.
The drinks are good- I had the Pimms Cup. SO refreshing and light. I could have drank 4.
The atmosphere is cozy and I appreciate that it's a little fussier (by fussy I mean there are actual waiters who serve you and you can make reservations) than most BBQ places which are just picnic tables and order/serve/bus yourself. The service was quite nice too. They brought us an extra dish by accident and let us keep it for free. They also sort of dropped something else we ordered, let us keep the remnants and brought us another free of charge.
PS- All the meat is gluten free+the deviled eggs, wedge salad, collard greens. Yay!
The brisket. The ribs.
Everything else was ok, but you're not going to a BBQ joint just for the corn bread, are you?
We started with mac and cheese, which was served in a piping hot cauldron (lol) but was cold in the middle. It had some spice to it, but I thought the flavor was one-note. We then had cole slaw, corn bread, and the aforementioned ribs and brisket. They were both flavorful, smoky, and excellent.
