  1. I love the bagels here!
I love them with one of their special handmade cream cheeses, I love them as part of a sandwich, breakfast or otherwise…there's pretty much no way you can eat these bagels and not love them! These bagels are huge so if you're not a hungry customer just ask them for a small bagel, that's right, they will accommodate you wth a slightly smaller bagel!
Often a long line but service is quick and friendly and the food is so worth the wait, just ask anyone willing to wait on the long  Saturday morning line-that includes  myself!
They have a huge freezer with tons of juices and teas, fresh OJ, and hot and iced teas and coffees.
Astoria is known for having the best of everything when it comes to food and restaurants, and Brooklyn Bagel is no exception! (Although I have to assume the original location is in Brooklyn ; ) oh well!)

  2. A nice day like today calls for a 'coffee meets bagel' date with my boyfriend. (Haha! See what I did there? :p). We stopped by for breakfast this morning during our stroll around the neighborhood. It is almost always busy here especially during breakfast hours on weekends but seating can be found with a little bit of patience.

We both got a bagel each – An Everything Bagel with Scallion Bacon Cream Cheese and a Spelt Bagel Lox and Scallion Cream Cheese. Both toasted, of course! I am deeply impressed with how soft and puffy the everything bagel was! It was so soft that it was just too easy for us to take a bite. Poppyseed, caraway, sesame seeds, garlic, salt and onion filled every spot throughout the bagel. Cream cheese had a nice spread texture – crunchy fresh scallion cream cheese and crispy bacon gave it a nice smokey flavor. Spelt Bagel is more on the toasty side and my crunchy fresh scallion cream cheese and slices of smoked salmon with it is the best thing ever. Always add the lox, so worth it!

Since it is a warm day, we also opt in for an Hazelnut Iced Coffee and Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice. Perfect partner in crime to our bagels!

Our neighborhood stroll continues with our tummies filled and happy!

  3. Stopped in here for a drink and chitchat with my friend. We were waiting for a Yelp Event to start.

This is a decent sized coffee shop. It's nice and quiet. It has seating for about 15-20.

The staff behind the counter were attentive. We both ordered large Chai Teas with almond milk. It was very refreshing. He did a great job. We sat by the window.

Next time, when I'm in the area I would like to try their bagels. I'll update my review when I do.

Overall, for service, I would recommend.

  4. Brooklyn Bagel has by far the best bagel's I've tasted thus far. Not only has Brooklyn Bagel been a part of many borough-wide taste competitions, it's WON a few of them as well! Both mini and normal sized bagels are offered along with a plethora of other breakfast options, like breakfast platters, burritos, and an oatmeal bar. The "mini" bagels make you re-think the American concept of portion size, because these things might as well be considered a standard bagel size. Further, their cream cheeses are freshly made and additionally offer a "Flavor of the Week" that has been known to co-opt my normal "Everything with Scallion" order. There is normally a rush during your normal weekend-sleep-in hours of 10-12pm, however the line moves quickly and the staff are pros at speedily accomodating your order.

  5. When I lived in Astoria I used to go to the Brooklyn Bagel on Broadway and it's not a surprise others have open in different places. The bagels are incredible, they taste fresh at all hours of the day and their selection of filling is very diverse.
You have to know the system of ordering the bagel at one end of the store, but you order your drinks as you pay. They offer a selection of add ons that are great and the employees are very knowledgeable, efficient and patient. This location is often very crowded, but thanks to the staff, the waiting is brief and you usually leave in a matter of minutes.
The place has a few tables inside, that you can use for working if you tolerate the constant flow of people coming in and out of the store.
In this street, parking can be challenging, but double parking is somewhat tolerated and as I said, it's a matter of minutes, so you can drive there.
    Enjoy your bagels!

  6. I love this place! Brooklyn Bagels always has a line for something as simple as bagels but there is a good reason why! This location is closest to my house and as such is the only one I have been to. It is a small location. As you enter there are a few tables for those that want to sit and enjoy their food and drink, and then the first thing you notice is the long line (especially if you are here on a Saturday or Sunday morning).

The first time I had to wait in line, I was skeptical. But now I understand why. The bagels here are amazing. They are boiled fresh on site and as you wait in line you can actually see the staff  in the back making the bagels. There are many different bagel choices (they also have other items such as croissants, egg sandwiches, etc.). I have only bought bagels here so can't speak much on anything else.

Now we get to the cream cheeses!! Astounding. There are so many options! My favorite is the kalamata olive cream cheese. It is absolutely delicious!! Must try!! I get my whole wheat bagel and my kalamata olive cream cheese, pay my 4 bucks and walk out a happy camper!

Do yourself a favor and skip on brunch one weekend and have a bagel instead (or half since we are all so health crazy nowadays). You won't regret it!!

  7. What can I say bad about this place? Absolutely nothing! Anything I've ever had from here has been fantastic! The bagels are fresh and delicious! They have a large variety of cream cheeses and also a large variety of other types of sandwiches and breakfast treats. So damn good! They are polite, cheery, and move the line along very quickly and there's room to sit and eat. Prices are fair as well.

    Everything is deliciousness here!

  8. Great in-house made bagels, many flavored cream cheese selections and a great staff, for what else can anyone ask?
