“The bacon scallion cream cheese had the perfect mix of flavors, and it was generously glommed onto the bagel…”

“i also highly recommend their whole wheat everthing bagel and lentil chili on they days that it's available.”

“Better than Murray's. Something about that water boil makes the dough just the right consistency and with the right flavor.”

  1. The moment you set foot into Brooklyn Bagels the aroma lift your nostrils and let you know that this is a great New York bagel place.

Unlike others places I've gotten bagels, the organization of this spot is much better. You stand in line which gives you plenty of time to choose from the incredibly wide selection of cream cheeses bagels and decide whether or not you want to go for something else.

I asked for the whole lotta grain bagel, which the lady immediately had to check to see if there were any left. It was about 1 o'clock on a Saturday so the place was bustling and I was lucky enough to get the last one. It must be popular.

I love the cream cheese, jalapeno asiago that the best part.  The bagel itself is legit too, a true new york bagel, perfectly salted, seasoned. And unlike some spots, its not a crazy puffy brick. Its a large but not over the top bagel. The crust reminds me of a montreal bagel while the carbs are classic new york bagel. Def worth a visit.

  2. This is the best bagel I've ever eaten in my life.

I'm from Cali where the bagels are meh in comparison. This was the first bagel I've had in NYC and boy did it raise the bar. I had the whole wheat everything bagel with cream cheese & smoked salmon. SO good. Just so yum. Try it, please. The combination is delicious and the salmon gave it a heartier and more filling breakfast. My friend judged me for picking whole wheat but hey, it was great!

Back to the actual bagel. It's so fluffy and doughy. I'm not sure how to explain it but it's like carby air clouds with every bite. They're some pretty hefty bagels and I'm sure I ate that real quick.

    Just go, trust

  3. Definitely good bagels here and so many different types of spreads it's unreal!

This place is clean and service moves fast.

I really liked my everything bagel – it was fresh, with enough chewiness and tasted great with peanut butter which they slather on generously.

  4. This is the place to get legit NY bagels at a decent price. You order deli style and can eat in or get it to go, the place isn't huge so the seats might all be taken when you get your order. The coconut bagel w cinnamon raisin walnut cream cheese is the best bagel breakfast I've had anywhere and the coffee is pretty good too. I liked this place so much I went back another day to get an everything bagel with blueberry cream cheese which is also a winner. Get a knife though since they lay the cream cheese on so thick you might want to scrape a bit off.

  5. The bagels are great and super tasty – it's my #2 place when it comes to bagels in NYC (#1 is Best Bagels in Midtown West in HSQ). They are also open late, even on Sundays (10pm).

My only issue was the customer service of the lady working the register tonight. I had asked for a bagel with cream cheese ($2.80) but I asked for the cream cheese on the side (or in one of their small cups) because I knew I was going to only eat one half of the bagel at that time. However she charged me $3.45 bc she thought I asked for a bagel…. and also a thing of cream cheese. Nope… a bagel with cream cheese but on the side. ANYWAYS, the guy who was working on my bagel told the woman it should be $2.80, not $3.45 and I kindly asked for my 65 cents back. She said, "it's only 65 cents!" .. and I said "yeah, its only 65 cents… it isn't a fortune or a big deal.. however, it's about the ethics.." She didn't get it. The guy working on my bagel was super friendly though!

I would still come back here when I'm in the Chelsea area, but make sure you're getting charged of what you're exactly paying for.

  6. Best bagel spot on the west side.  Great selection of cream cheeses and their bagels are big and bodacious.  Chewy, dense, yummy, flavorful.  Really good bacon, egg, and cheese.  They also have coconut bagels.  I have been here 4 times and I always leave with a bag of bagels to stick in the freezer for when I cannot make the trip over to 8th Ave.  Can't wait to go back again.  And since I'll be running the NYC Marathon this November 2016, I'll definitely be eating more bagels…carbo loading starts now!

  7. The everything bagel with bacon scallion cream cheese is heaven. That is all.

  8. Bacon scallion cream cheese. The end.

Ok, not the end, but it could be. This stuff is amazingly tasty and so smart…. why haven't more places thought of this idea? The bagels were tasty, but the cream cheese was ridiculous. I recommend a thousand times!!!
