  1. I still love the atmosphere and weirdness of this place, but I'm downgrading it because the food was so bad on my last visit.  I ordered the vegan schnitzel and it was just a few rubbery slices of seitan, not even breaded as schnitzel, with a side of unseasoned steamed vegetables.  The cheese pierogis tasted oddly sweet. The potato pancakes had spent too long in the deep fryer. In general, everything was way too greasy. The indoor area is also quite chilly in winter, and they seem painfully understaffed. I'd still drink here when summer rolls around, but they have to work on the food.

  2. I am going to be open minded here as they have only been open for a few days.
The staff and management clearly is still trying to iron out its kinks as service is a bit disorganized and I saw that there is still some construction going on. It's a nice outdoor space and I can see it doing well once they can figure out what they want to be. Entering the "garden" it does not give feel of a typical beer garden but as outdoor reception. The bar is there for the employees as there are no stools to sit at and the table set up consists of high tables and low tables that seat 4. the beer selection and prices are adequate and the food menu seems to want to stick to the theme of this place. I had the pretzel bites which i felt were ok but to buttery which when drinking beer it disrupts the pallet.
I am sure they will get it together sooner rather than later so I will be visiting them in a few weeks and will update!

  3. This place has amazing, wonderfully fresh decor. The outdoor patio extends further back than you probably think it does, into a small fountain area. It's connected to a venue that holds weddings, bar mitzvahs, etc. The beers on tap were a bit limited than I would've thought for a biergarten, but still delicious nonetheless. Wasn't able to check out their food menu, but this was a perfect afternoon spot after a stroll down 7th ave from Park Slope. It's really not far from north Park Slope!
