This place is THE gem of Crown Heights. There are so many novelty items here and many local brands.
I went on Dec 24 in hopes of completing a nice tea set I was putting together for my Mom (yep, I am that New Yorker that pulls Xmas gifts together on Xmas Eve). I was looking for some of the digestive teas by Yogi. I was shocked to see that the selection was twice the size of Whole Foods (who I had visited the day before). And with much luck, the boxes were on sale at 2 for $7!! WFs cost $5 for one box! What a steal! And I walked out with the two flavors I went searching for 🙂
They also have many other items that you could easily pull together for gifting. A nice cookie selection, organic/whole grains (there is a big Bob Red Mill selection), craft beers, local coffee beans, lots of peanut butters, cooking oils, jars of honey, a variety of cured meats, and many pickles (like McClure's). My roomies and I frequently stop in for Steve's ice cream, too.
To top it all off, there are some amazing deals if you dig a bit. The staff is super friendly, too!
