Good, but not fantastic. While it's in a perfection location (very scenic and a perfect dessert spot after some pizza from Juliana's or Grimaldi's), I've definitely had equal/better quality ice cream at places that don't require cash and aren't as overpriced. This place has nice classics like vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry, (I got coffee) but I personally like out of the ordinary flavors that other places offer.
Worth the line. I came on a Tuesday afternoon in the dead of summer and the line was only to the steps and moved pretty quick.
I ordered the strawberry in a sugar cone and was sad that the guy helping me told me they couldn't put the Oreo crunchies on with that cone but after a second of me pondering my next choice he said he would try something for me- nice to see the good side of people every once in a while 🙂
I DID get my Oreos on that cone and it was DELICIOUS. Perfectly but not overly sweet. There are chunks of strawberry in it which were a bit big for my liking but still fabulous.
It was honestly so good I dropped it will trying to take an artsy picture by the water because I'm basic as can be and still ate it. Judge if you want, but it was worth it
Only $5 and a great area to be in on a nice day and chill
Stopped by here for ice cream after pizza. Was expecting something more special, but it really wasn't. We ordered butter pecan and peaches and cream. Both weren't anything special. I've def had way better ice cream. It was $9 for a single scoop cup and a sugar cone. I wouldn't really come back. If I lived in the area, sure I would probably come back just out of convenience for ice cream, but not for the flavors or the ice cream itself. Can def do without it if you are in Dumbo, BK.
Tourist trap, but the location can't be beat. Coming back here is always nostalgic and reminds me of the first time I looked up at the Brooklyn bridge in awe in sweltering summer heat.
All your traditional ice cream scoops and even some seasonal ones to boot (raspberry, blueberry, etc) that aren't always on the menu, so make sure and ask. Otherwise, they serve a solid strawberry (my go to) and give a decent sized scoop for a whopping $4. Ouch.
If the line going into the "lighthouse" is too much, they usually have a ice cream truck outdoors that serves most the same stuff with half the line. Get it and enjoy the scenery, it's what you're paying for really.
It's some views from Bk.
How Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory got me to pay $6 for a single scoop of basic butter pecan? The view!! (Also you get to use the bathroom too, so thumbs up for that)
The ice cream is medicore, but what is could beat having ice cream while staring into manhattan's beautiful skyline?
Flavors are simple: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Butter Pecan.
It's a small place, so be expected to wait outside but the lines are pretty quick. And make sure to bring cash! They dont accept credit.
That being said, pay the overpriced basic ice cream and enjoy the view.
The ice cream tasted like it had freezer burn on it. Maybe I just got a bad batch?
Cash only.
It's expensive for what you get.
Not a fan, would not return.
Yummy ice cream! If there is a long line to get into the main building to get ice cream, which there was on the hot day I went, you can go to the smaller stand instead. The small stand is right at the entrance of the white and red tent by the water, you can't miss it. Even the one-scoop cone is really two scoops, great deal for under $5! Cash only.
I had the chocolate chunk, which was deeeeelish! See pic…I took a bite out of the top scoop because it was melting. #sorrynotsorry
Dunno about the ice cream, but beer buckets on the outdoor terrace with views of downtown Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge will do it for me!
