  1. This is my absolute go to place for pizza! I have been here more than a dozen times and each time the pizza I ordered is done to perfection. They use a brick oven which in my opinion makes a big difference.

    I usually order the pepperoni pizza and the fried calamari and/or the mozzarella tomato salad. Bottom line, I am never disappointed when I leave here.

    Be Aware: This is a CASH only restaurant. No refills on sodas. Long wait times are usually Friday and Saturday nights.

  2. The Positives:

    This is my go-to place for brick oven style pizza in north New Jersey. Long story short: 5-Star local brick-oven style pizza, 3-Stars overall experience.

    The pizza quality is outstanding in comparison to other brick oven pizza I have eaten over the years.  They do not have deliver so I will often order a pizza for pickup rather than dining in.(Sigh, get with it guys, you could triple your business)  The ingredients used in the pizza are of top quality, however they do not use much sauce on their pizza so be prepared to order extra sauce if you like a moderate amount on your pie.  It really is the best pizza in Bergen County NJ that i know of.  The garlic bread, mozzarella/tomato salad, and antipasto are also great.  There, I said it, great food; now onto the reasons this place make me sad…

    The Negatives:

    I would have rated them 5-stars based on the quality of the pizza but they do not accept credit cards (Double Sigh, cash-only businesses drive me crazy); please join the 21st century. Perhaps next time I order pickup I will barter with firewood and goats as payment.

    Oh, and If you happen to dine in, be prepared for the smallest beverage cup ever placed in a restaurant!  When you finish your tiny cup of whatever liquid you ordered (displaced by lots of ice) be prepared to pay per refill? (Triple Sigh!, it costs you guys a nickel in soda syrup to fill those little cups, do you REALLY have to double dip your customers on top of your already top-tier pizza prices?)  If i do happen to dine-in I purposely order my side drinks with no ice to try and offset their soda scam.  Give me a break…  It's a trap!  Admiral Akbar would have seen this a light-year away!  One last thing, when you order pickup the pizza comes in a paper sleeve (not a box) more penny-pinching/ corner cutting, or other reasons?  You be the judge?

    The downfalls bring this local, 5-Star brick oven pizza down to a 3-star review:

    * Cash-only
    * In-house soda refill scam
    * No Delivery
    * No Slices
    * Cheapo paper sleeves for pickup
    * They skimp on the sauce

    I rarely ding my reviews for issues aside from the food, but my this combo really got under my skin!  I'll admit they have me by the balls as far as local brick oven pizza goes, but i'm not happy about it!

  3. Came here with a friend expecting alot, as in 5 stars and well our food was sent to another table and water never came. They did bring fresh bread, just no butter.

    The server was great, he tried to recover for the mishap. The pizza did taste a little different. The crust was a little doughy….hmmmm

    And well, we would of ordered dessert if offered but they seemed to close early.

    I plan to check out their other locations…stay tuned.

  4. Pizza here is great, its not as thin as I like it but the crust is perfectly chewy and soft. Some of the pepperoni were crispy, while others were soggy when doubled on top of one another. Sauce was fresh but wasn't distributed evenly on the pie. It costs $16 for a medium pie with half topping. It's well worth the money considering the incredible fresh ingredients used. And that brick oven, wow does it take the charcoal flavor to another level. While you sit and wait for your pie to be done, you can watch them prepare it as the oven is smack in the middle of the dining area.

    There's plenty of seating in the dinning area with a very nice and sufficient staff. They are very busy but handle every customer with the time they deserve. Parking lot is large and the restaurant is big and can be spotted from faraway.

    Check them out, pizza is very delicious and filling. With a great staff and great prices you can't go wrong.

    *Cash only
    *No individual slices sold
    *No delivery

  5. Great brick oven pizza!!! I had a cheese pie and it was delicious!! We also had stuffed eggplant which was cooked perfectly and a cold antipasto that felt like it came right from a home kitchen. The staff was great! Friendly and efficient!! The place is adorable! Great for a date or catching up with friends!!

  6. This is the best pizza in Bergen County.  Location is a little odd being off hackensack ave, you can easily miss it if you don't know what you're looking for. As a tip it's right across from a high school. The parking lot is small can it can be hard to find parking if you go when it's busy. Line is sometimes around the door. Ambiance is a stuffed since the place is small, always crowded with workers running around so I prefer to order take out. It's also cash only which is a personal annoyance for me since I never have cash.

    Food wise, again pizza is amazing, I always order a large "margaritah" pizza and this is one of the few places that use fresh mozz on their margaritah. The sauce is simple and not too salty, dough is crispy but soft. Takes some time for it too come out, but its worth it. I don't live in Bergen County anymore, but everytime I fly home I try to come here. The cash only thing makes me lazy and not want to go as often as I would if they accepted credit cards.

    Also try the fried ravioli for an appetizier you wont regret it.

  7. So this is the second location I've been to for Brooklyn's, and the first did not leave me impressed.  Atmosphere is that of a typical pizzeria, pretty casual.  Servers were pretty nice and attentive despite the fact that it was pretty busy when I had gone in.  My husband and I were there for a friends birthday, so we started with a Stromboli and then we split a couple of pizza's between the group, a white pie and a regular pie.  I think for me, the main issue is that I'm not just into style of pizza.  The pizza is a little doughy for me, I personally like thin crust.  Aside from that though, flavors are really lacks, both pizzas and the stromboli was pretty bland, although if I had to pick a winner the white pizza would have been it.

  8. I have visited this place a couple of times already and it is always solid. If you are looking for traditional really great ingredients pizza than this is definitely the place to go. I recommend their cheese & tomato pizza, calamari and cappuccino are all really good. Their cheese to sauce ratio is perfect. TIP: They have beer which is awesome for a pizza joint.
