Brother Jimmy’s BBQ
“I know a lot of people would say I'm crazy for saying that, but I think if you stick to the ribs and pulled pork sandwiches here you will be fine.”
“Fishbowls, awesome
A free lizard per fishbowl, why not
The chicken, delish
All southern drinks, may sound weird at first but but they taste so good!”
“First it was opposing sides of the park uptown, now it's midtown with a bar near MSG and this newest location in Murray Hill.”

ATMOSPHERE: Bro central! Salmon shorts and sports vests FOR DAYS. It is really enjoyable to people watch here. Just know what you're coming into, especially in Murray ~Chill~
DRINKS: Happy hour specials aren't too bad. I honestly don't mind the drinks.
FOOD: Can honestly say I have never tried their food, unless I just don't remember, but it looks like your typical BBQ joint. Get some ribs and wings, and enjoy yer cocktails.
It's a BBQ joint in Murray Hill. Kinda says it all, right?
Went here for friend's happy hour celebration. The place was packed with Murray Hill bros and a few corporate suits from the after work crowd. It makes for a loud and somewhat rowdy crowd, but if that's your thing, this place gets the job done.
Getting drinks from the bar was starting to become an exercise in futility, and there were enough of us that it justified getting a table. Service definitely improved once we had a nice server to handle our orders. I got a couple mixed drinks and an order of fried green tomatoes for snacking. The drinks were just okay, a little on the weaker side, but the tomatoes were delicious, breaded and fried crispy with a side of remoulade sauce for dipping.
All and all, it's definitely not my type of place, but it has its merits. The only real downside is that my friend eventually got kicked out of the bar.
Got a BLFGT & Mashed via MealPass! Despite myself being the guilty late arriver on my order, it was still warm and ready to go. The nice lady at the front greeted me with a warm smile and handed me my order right away. As I left, I couldn't help but think of the Staples slogan, "That was easy!" as cheesy as it felt, and got to eating. The sandwich was yummy and came with mashed potatoes in a tiny cup. Packaged well and quick service to top it off, I must recommend!
Another Bro J's review. Another location that I cannot escape from enjoying their swamp water and bucket of wings. I think out of all the locations, I prefer this one the most due to its more party-like vibe (although really they all have a party vibe so I guess I like the layout better than the others). The service is always attentive and the food and drinks come quick. Our go-to will forever be the bucket of wings, the nachos and now we have inducted a new dish: the bucket of rib-tips. GET IT. So much meat in that bucket and full of that bbq flavor. Love love the rib tips.
More of a 3.5 but rounding up to 4 because of the smooth experience with a party of 17.
Our big group came at 7pm on a Friday night with reservations and were seated in a spacious table. We actually had 2 reservations since the max size they allow is 15, but we requested to have the groups be seated next to each other. It was all set up nicely for us, as if it were just one big reservation.
Food was very mediocre, but enjoyable. I had the pulled pork sandwich with green beans. Sandwich was dry and the green beans were undercooked and way too salty. We also shared some hush puppies for our appetizers and I loved those, especially the maple butter that came with it.
Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. There was also a bunch of tv's around the room showing different sports on each, which kept our attention as we ate and talked.
I think this is a good place to go to for a casual night with friends, but don't come here if you're looking for quality food.
Have eaten at another Brother Jimmys outlet before (near Penn Station). Identical set up which you'd expect for a chain.
Same menu – same good wholesome food! Typical choices of BBQ meats or chicken. Good selection of beers.
Service was ok. Drinks were fine. Was very busy which I expect is normal for a Friday night.
Recommend the chicken dinner – awesome!
In terms of the food, there's nothing wrong with it. The meat is tender and flavorful enough, the burgers are satisfying enough, and the sides are decently well done.
The ambience is also very fitting for bbq and hosting large parties.
But what gets me is that most dishes seem just so overpriced. Like the burgers are $12-$15 and the quality and quantity just don't justify that for me.
Amazing BBQ in NYC!!
I've only been for lunch but the lunch special is terrific. I usually get the sliders or the pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese. I haven't had anything I didn't like yet.
Atmosphere is similar to a Hooters with a southern touch to it.
