  1. Really impressed by the pizza here. I haven't had great pizza in a long time, and this place hit the spot. I got the white pizza, which consists of mozzarella and ricotta cheese on top of a thin crust. It didn't look like anything special on the pan but had that crispy crust with mouth-watering cheese as I bit into it.

I was sort of surprised by the amount of customers that came here. It seems like locals know their stuff! And most people were hacking away at the Sicilian crust pizza, hmm. Needless to say, I heard good reviews of their cheese steak.

$3 for a delicious slice= can't go wrong. Customer service is great, as food is served fast. Ample seating.

  2. Here's what you need….. Thick Sicilian (Not Grandma's although that is great too) with Fresh Mozz. and add Ricotta on top. Thank me later.
The wing Sauce they used to have was awesome. It's been quite some time so I'm not sure if it's the same, but it was Cluck U Atomic BBQ. It was nice and sweet with a ton of heat immediately following. It's not on the menu, but I used to have a Roast beef sandwich with the meat dipped in the bbq sauce then thrown on the flat top. The bread….simply toasted with Caesar  dressing. Awesome, Hot peppers, onions, and cheese could all be added to taste, but the meat and bread are the foundation.

  3. Brothers Pizza tastes like home.

EB is my hometown. Sadly, I no longer reside in the area. I have gone as far as buying a pie here, and then subsequently foil wrapping each slice individually to put in my suitcase so that I can have slices of "home" for a few days longer after I fly out.

Honorable mention: I was picking something up at the liquor store next to Shop-Rite at Mid-state mall when one of the cashiers checked my ID and noticed that my current address is now in Miami. A bewildered look of "WTF are you doing here then?" was on his face….I told him that I'm from here and I was just visiting. We bashed about turnpike traffic, among other things. But then i said i missed the PIZZA here. He immediately replied, "Brothers Pizza?" My eyes lit up: "YES!! see you understand!" Oh yes, we had a moment of close bond right there. It is obvious that Brothers Pizza is a taste of home for a lot of people 🙂

That's really all I can say to do this place justice.

  4. I ate here on a Saturday night and the place seemed to be quite popular.  I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp.  It was one of the best fettuccine alfredos that I have tried where it had a smooth texture and you can taste the butter along with the alfredo cheese.  Shrimps were cooked perfectly too.  The portions are very generous.  My plate of pasta could have easily fed 2 people.  The garlic knots were average.  The mozzerella, basil, tomato salad was tasty, but I wash there was more basil in it.  I heard that the pizza here was also good, so I brought a pie home.  It reheated nicely the next day in the microwave and tasted good.  People who like extra cheese on their pizza will like pizza from Brothers.

  5. Brothers tastes like childhood to me. My family and I have been dining here for nearly 30 years now. It's an East Brunswick staple, and although it seems as if a new pizzerias pop up by the week, Brothers will always be the go-to.

Mancinis across town has only been open for a few years, but definitely presents itself as a strong competitor in the East Brunswick Italian game. Yes, they have a much larger menu and a more lively dine-in atmosphere. But, at the end of the day it's all about quality of food and brothers has got some of the best.

    What we always order:

-Vodka slice. Their vodka sauce is to die for. This is a perfect grab and go lunch option.

-A hippie roll. Or, a "famous hippie roll" as the brothers call it. Gooey and stringy mozzarella cheese with sausage, peppers and onions. It's badazzzz.

-Chicken parm dinner. Hands down, THE BEST chicken parm I've ever eaten. Huge pieces of breaded chicken dripping in red sauce and cheese, served with mounds of pasta and bread.

The portions are huge and a chicken parm dinner with a hippie roll is the perfect share for my family of 4. Order an extra side of the infamous red sauce. It's so damn tasty that you'll want to smother it all over everything twice. I must not be the only one who feels that way, I'm pretty sure that they sell it by the jar here.

  6. I should punch the guy I was back in 2012 for giving Brothers only 4 stars.

Granted, I had just moved from Brooklyn back to East Brunswick at the time, and had been spoiled by the likes of Lucali, Di Fara, and Totonno's for years. But when you really break it down, the real pizza-defining years for me were 1979 through 1990.

In 1979, my mom and dad moved me and my newborn brother from Woodhaven, Queens to Hillsdale Road in East Brunswick. I was 7. And in walking distance of our house was Brothers Pizza.

My family didn't eat out much, but when we did, we went to Brothers. It was a tradition we'd honor for more than a decade. It was a small pizza joint then. I have such fond memories of the brothers boys — and they were truly still "boys" at the time — slinging pies and plates of pasta, a small tube TV perpetually playing soccer, and countless posters of Italian soccer stars lining the walls, and booths packed with smiling happy East Brunswick families eating what we all believed to be the greatest pizza in the world.

In 1990, I shipped off to the University of Maryland. By 1997, I was a single man living a single man's life in Manhattan. Then around 2005, a girl came into the picture and talked me into getting married and moved me to Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It didn't take long after that before our second child arrived and my wife decided we were moving to the 'burbs.

To make a long story short, I basically woke up one day in the Fall of 2011 and was suddenly living in East Brunswick again. 21 years later. Guess where I went for my first slice? Yep, you know it: Brothers.

Upon my return, I hardly recognized the place. It had gone through a massive makeover and expansion into an adjoining space. It was a little jarring at first, but then I saw the faces of the brothers boys behind the counter. They had aged far better than I, but were certainly boys no longer. They were grown men now. And I realized the boys handing me my slice behind the counter were very likely their young sons. It didn't take long to bite into that slice, look around me, and realize… I had finally returned home.

What a great and surreal feeling.

It's 2016 now. My newborn brother is fast approaching 40 and works for the EBPD. My parents just turned 70 and live in nearby Monroe Township, where all the old people go to escape property taxes and children. And this little 7-year old boy is now 44-years old.

But one thing remains constant: our family's love for the brothers boys and their pizza.

Ironically, my own little boy and girl are now 6 and 7, respectively. And when I ask them where they want to eat dinner, the answer is almost always the same:

"Brothers, dad. Let's get pizza at Brothers."

Amen to that. And long live Brothers!

  7. Ok,,been going here for years..Hands down ONLY pizza I will eat without complaint. Gravy is delish and cheese not salty or greasy. Place is always busy.
