  1. Real good for the area.

Food is pretty great, service is so-so. Good variety of burger types.

It's way too expensive for the neighborhood.

Don't know what it's like to-go, but eating in was enjoyable.

  2. Both my younger sister and I had passed by Burger it Up but not realized it was a restaurant we'd want to visit until finding it on Yelp. Our previous opinion was based completely on the sign over the door. It looked beyond diy….almost an afterthought. But, the Yelp reviews helped us to know that it was a serious establishment and not just a diy type of place.

We found a small dining room with tables ranging from happy hour friends to a solo patron enjoying an early dinner. Large storefront windows overlook a street with decent people watching. The interior is very casual with a cafe sort of feel. For example, the menus are trifold paper but there is table service. We were there for happy hour which offered specials on beer, two for one. Liquor and sangria are $5. Also, they have a $1 can special. The fries were shoestring and delicious. I had the red sangria with cut up fruit; I liked it.

  3. Interesting burger options, and the burger, fries, and pickle are served on a small pizza platter rather than a traditional plate. I like the simplicity of it. The spicy fries were awesome, and they had a TON of beer selections. They have more beer options than some bars.

The mozzarella sticks weren't that great, but the burger was good enough that I'd return if I was in the area. I like that they have their own pickles. Pickles are underrated, and generally don't get enough love. So, I'm a fan.

The price is fair, and the wall decor is interesting. I suspect that I will return to burger it up.

  4. The best sangria ever, hands down. "Mama Sangria"

This place is so underrated. The first time I came here, there was a DJ spinning good music, the boss was pouring out alot of free shots, and some people were actually dancing bachata ! The staff and owners are truly great people who just want guests to be happy.

    Burgers-
I've had the peruvian & the knickerbocker. Peruvian was okay, alot of my friends love it… to me, as a burger fanatic.. it was okay not bad. But the knickerbocker… spicy mayo with a balance of refreshing cucumber & cilantro on the burger plus that great salty grilled turkey ham, so much more delicious than you expect.

They use one of the top quality beef patty, from pat la freida and marinated well. Interesting burgers paired with amazing sangrias.

  5. A welcomed addition to the neighborhood. This place serves up some of the most delicious burgers you'll find in Brooklyn. The fries are absolutely incredible too. If you ever visit here, be sure to try the Sangria, because it's hands-down one of the best I've ever tasted (and I don't normally like Sangria). Check this place out for sure.

  6. Cash only but there is an ATM on the corner of George Street. The Chorizo Burger was amazing. Red & green peppers with oaxaca cheese. The spice is in the meat but isn't overbearing. I had a side order of jalapeno for an extra kick. I am still in a burger coma.

  7. The
    Menu
    Held so much
    Promise but the
Meat just isn't good. So disappointing.

  8. I will never forget the first time I went to Burger it Up. It was their opening week, and I was so excited for a new burger place to open nearby. Legends of  the Fall starring Brad Pitt was on the TV there, subtitled. I waited for my burger. and waited. I wondered what could possibly take so long in the preparation. I waited so long that I actually kind of became more than vaguely interested in Legends of the Fall, because there was nothing else to do but stare at the TV screen. Finally my burger arrived and it was alright. I don't care for the seasoning they use – I prefer just straight salt and pepper, so I don't really go there often, if ever. But they were very, very nice. They gave me a free piece of flan to try (and I had not complained about the wait – they either offered it to make up for that on their own, or they were just trying to get people to try it because they were a new business).

Anyhow, I'm not a huge fan of their burgers personally, but the last time I went in service was much faster, so I wouldn't not recommend them to a hungry person. I would eat there again if I were with someone who really wanted to go…

But I will always remember eating there because by the time I finished, I had seen 40 minutes of the movie and was invested to the point where I actually rented Legends of the Fall when I got home. I feel a deep sense of shame for that.
